168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Biomutant has been a longtime coming. It was announced in 2017 and four years later the launch is now upon the world. Is the first 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:new open-world game of 2021 worth it? The answer is complicated. There are positives to note but there are 💯more negatives to go through at launch including some pesky bugs.

On the negative side, besides these glitches, there are story beats and gameplay mechanics that are baffling to behold. That is to say they make no sense and can drive any willing fans 🀅into a coma. There will be spoilers ahead so let’s get to it.

10 The Story Presentation

A character conversation from Biomutant

This game is told with a narrator rather than a fully voiced cast of characters. This is odd considering the fact that it is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:an open-world game. It can be a bit hard for players to immerse themsel🗹ves in the story when a disembodied voice talks through all NPCs. It doesn’t make sense for a game like this but it does for something like LittleBigPlanet, which did use a narrator.

9 Photo Mode Inconsistencies

Two gate guards from Biomutant

The photo mode in this game is not as robust as some, like the one in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ghost of Tsushima, but it is good for what it is. However, there are a few odd quirk🐟s about it. When going into the camera viewpoint, most games remove all context from gameplay like health bars. This game does not but it also does. It varies but overall keeping bars on defeats the idea of a photo mode.

8 Toxic Zones

The Mech underground from Biomutant

The world was destroyed, killing all of humanity and bringing the uprising of mutant animals to take ovꦜer. Now the Earth is starting to heal thanks to a great tree, but there are still some parts that cannot be lived in. These area𓄧s must be navigated through with the mech.

It’s a great idea but how does that mech protect🦩 the hero from any sort of toxic waste being breathed in? It’s an 🐠open-faced cockpit.

7 Can’t Spawn The Mech Wherever

The Mech aboveground from Biomutant

Another thing regarding the mech that doesn’t add up is spawning it. Players cannot summon it unless they are about to go into the toxic zone. On some level this does make sense as being able to summon the mech anywhere would create an imbalance in the game’s difficulty, making it too easy. However, from the story’s perspective, it doesn’t explain logically why it can’t be summoned anywhere 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this open-world game.

6 Why Is Your Rival Such A Threat?

Your character in a fight from Biomutant

The game opens up with the hero critter running away from a giant known as Lupa-Lupin. Why he is after the player is unknown until there is a flashback showing how he destroyed the home village which leads to some good old fa🅺shioned parent death. This brute looks strong, but is he really much more of a threat than any other large creature the player faces, especially with the tree eaters? The only thing th๊at makes him worthy is his level but from a story standpoint, it seems weird he is the strongest out there.

5 Can’t Swim

Your character about to drown from Biomutant

There is and is not an explanation as to why the her🔥o cannot swim. It ties back to the flashback involving the death of his mom. At that point he was small and young and didn’t learn to swim which is why he had to cling to his mom’s back. However, in the time since, did he really never learn to swim? It seems odd that he can wield weapons easily, especially the mech which seems second nature, but going into the water will drain stamina too fast. This makes water a death trap for a go🌠od portion of the game.

4 Crafting Wackiness

The crafting menu from Biomutant

This may not be so much of a bad logic problem as it is just funny to point out. The crafting system should not work the way it does. For example, players can remodel their main blade, if players got it that is with their class. They can exchange the blade for something else as well as the handl🃏e. One could presumably create a sword with an actual blade and a monkey wrench for a handle in otherꦗ words. How does that work?

3 Smashing Walls

Charging up your fist weapon from Biomutant

There is an inconsistency with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Metroidvania aspects of the game. For exam𓄧ple, there are tools to reach new areas like a fist that can charge up and break through walls or the crowbar which can crack into places. Once the fist is acquired, the crowbar seems 📖unnecessary.

As another example, a rusted gate can be propped open with the crowbar but why can’t the fist also plow through it if it can break through walls? For that matter, why isn’t there more destructible environments in the game to use this power on? The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Red Faction team should get on the sequel.

2 Burning Down A House For Coal

Your character in a burned building from Biomutant

There is one odd que🦋st in the gam♚e that doesn’t add up. Players need to gather charcoal. They do this by burning down a house which is excessive but sure.

The house is now nothing but charcoal but there are only certain spots one can mine in order to get the righ🍸t type of charcoal. It’s all wo♛od so it shouldn’t matter.

1 Flashback Sequences

Your character and mother swimming from Biomutant

The flashback sequences, like the story, were implemented in an odd way. Before the game opens up players have to go though a tutorial which is how most games work. Then, after exploring 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the open-world, there will be a few flashb𒁃acks which have more tutorials. Some of them rehash the same stuff too. It would have made more sense to start the game in the flashback instead to set that up as the tutorial.
