Microsoft has received an outpouring of praise in recent weeks. Whether it be announcing an all-new Fable reboot, dropping the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xbox brand name from Game Pass,🥀 allowing the use of Xbox One controllers on Xbox Series X, or simply being as pro-consumer as is possible in these trying times, Microsoft has maintained a relatively sparkling image in tꩲhe wake of a well-received Xbox Games Showcase.

However, rece💮ntly unveiled reports debunking rumors on the death of Xbox Live have now wrought the hammer of justice upon Microsoft. Are these new reports true, or is Microsoft saving face until its next big live event?

A flurry of whispers and underhanded rumors over the past several months have posited that not only would Microsoft fuse Xbox Live into its ever-burgeoning Game Pass subscription plan, but so too would it eventually drop the paid multiplayer model altogether. These ideals came hot off the presser f🎀ollowing the subscription plan, which led many to wonder if the nearly 20-year old multiplayer service model would soon meet its demise. The service's recent name alteration, which evolved from Xbox Li✨ve to Xbox online service only drove these rumors into more than mere potentialities.

This, however, has been deemed an absolute fallacy as according to a Microsoft spokesperson, who released🍬 a statement to The Verge writer, Tom Warren. The spokesperson explain🐲s:

"The update to ‘Xbox online servi♉ce’ in the Microsoft Services Agreement refers to the undeꦆrlying Xbox service that includes features like cross-saves and friend requests. This language update is intended to distinguish that underlying service, and the paid Xbox Live Gold subscription. There are no changes being made to the experience of the service or Xbox Live Gold."

Only cementing Xbox Live as a mainstay multiplayer service on Microsofꦅt c▨onsoles is the added words provided by the spokesperson:

"We have no plans to discontinue Xbox Live Gold at this time. It is an important part of gaming on Xbox today, and will continue to be in the fu🀅ture."

Given the fact Halo Infinite, as one example, will be a free-to-play online experience avail🌄able on both PC and console, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles this imbalance not mere months before the next-gen console release. If not directly addressed with more clarity, it could very well be disastrous for console sales, as more than most will simply just utilize a PC to circumnavigate 🅰the added costs of online multiplayer on console.

Although hardcore Xbox system fanboys may not be all too keen on the notion of paying for online multiplayer, it only makes sense that one of the company's most successful and largest revenue streams isn't going anywhere, despite even a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:strong Q4 leading into the XS💎X release. And, even with next-gen console prices still floating in a river of unknowns, PC still remains the only place in gaming to play multiplayer for free, which it seems will be lasting f🌳or quite some time far into the future of the industry.
