The Covid-19 induced lockdown has us confined to our homes a꧋nd has put all our travel plans on the back burner. However,꧅ a fan project for Microsoft Flight Simulator will give you an audio tour for over 9000 points of interest, so that’s one way to travel!

is a mod created by a community of fans which identifies and integrates✤ a short audio tour for the sim’s many points of interest. These voice recordings will play automatically every time you fly over one of these places. The community is pretty active and has also incorporated the World Updates for Japan, USA, UK, and Benelux.

The submission process for these audio tours is pretty streamlined thanks to an intensive back end system. All you need to do is locate a point of inter▨est using the Bush Radar tool and write up a short description of the place with some interesting facts. You can also use an integrated Wikipedia Import tool to make sure you don’t miss out on any relevant information about the pl💖ace. The most interesting thing however, is that you don’t have to record any audio. All you have to do is find a location and write down the script, a text-to-speech tool will then create the audio tour for you.

Bushtalk Radio has enabled a number of interes🐼ting and detailed audio tours, not just about the places themselves, but also their historical significance. For instance, 💜one of the submissions is an 11 part audio tour for the Second Punic War. There’s also a tour about the world's largest beaver dam in Alberta, Canada, which can be seen from space.

So, the next time you’re on a simulated flight to a destination of꧟ your choice, you can simply enable the audio tour via the cockpit to💦olbar and learn some interesting facts about local landmarks. The mod is free, but the developers have created a Patreon account that goes towards hosting servers and text-to-speech tool.

The France and Benelux update for Microsoft Flight Simulator came out 𝓀last month and revamped some of the most famous landmarks in the region, including the Arc de Triomphe, Palais de Justice of Brussels, Vianden Castle, and the Johan Cryuff Arena among others.
