We're not jumping to conclusions just yet, but something fishy is going on with a brand new Perfect Dark Twitter account that popped up last weekend.

Here's the sitch: over the weekend, two Twitter accounts were spotted by , senior editor at The Verge. One is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:@Fable, the other is @PerfectDarkGame--both are storied franchises, and both  to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:have a new game currently in development for the Xbox Series X.

A brand new Twitter account for two rumored-to-be-in-production games could mean an imminent announcement, so people are going to notice this sort of thing. Especially fans of either 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fable or 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Perfect Dark.

According to Twitter, the @Fable account got started in March of 2020, while the Perfect Dark Twitter handle got started just this month. Keep that in mind as we get to Aaron Gre𝄹enberg, who is GM for Xbox Games Ma༒rketing at Microsoft.

to Warren's tweet saying thaಌt it was "standard practice to secure social handles for our IP" and that both accounts "have been inactive for years." But again, both accounts are very♈ recent additions to Twitter and thus couldn't have been inactive for so long. Greenberg seems to be blowing a lot of smoke, and as the saying goes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Although Microsoft is remaining silent𝓀, the owner of @PerfectDarkGame is not. No sooner is the Twitter account discovered than it suddenly tweets to say , and in fact, it’s just some r💟ando squatting on the handle. Time for disappointment right?

But hold the phone. @PerfectDarkGame then says that they reached out to Ken Lobb, Creative Director at Microsoft Studios, to ask if he’d like the handle. So far there’s no response, but whoever @PerfectDarkGame is, they’re clearly a Perfect Dark fan and want the franchise to return.

Which is nice, but we’ve got one more wrinkle to add to this whol♔e mystery. The owners for both @Fable and @PerfectDarkGame? They’re registered .

It’s possible to get a Microsoft email account without actually being a Microsoft employee, but it's hardly the first choice for a throw-away email account to make a Twitter handle. Combin♎e that with the fact that both Twitter accounts are followed by Microsoft employees, and there are just too many coincidences to ignore.

ther🎀e's going to be more game announcements for the Xbox Series X next month. We won't be too surprised if Ms. Dark makes an app🍌earance.
