As the next generation of consoles heads 🌼towards us at a♏n increasingly fast pace, there are still questions regarding the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the most prominent of which involving their respective release dates.

However, many already have promising theories about the next consoles' releases, including The Verge's senior editor Tom Warren, who recen🦋tly asserted in a tweet that the Xbox Series X would be coming sooner rather than later.

Warren's tweet can be seen below.

Warren justifies the potential early Xbox S♔eries X release by mentioning Microsoft's increased revenue from 2019 due to both Xbox's services and software. Further, he brings up a shortage of Xbox consoles and the recent reports that the Xbox One X and the Xbox One S All Digital version were being discontinued going forward.

"This will all make sense soon," Warren concludes with an image ofꩵ a game controller. If anything, this sort of announcement would warrant its own exclusive event, so it's unsurprising that there was no mention of a date during the recent Xbox Games Showcase.

A September console release for Microsoft would be unconventional for the company. Given that previous consoles have been released in November, it would be out of left field to bump things up. Further,🐼 it would fail to capture the boom that generally occurs during the holiday season in which consumers are spending more on gaming.

However, a September r♎elease would definitely be a first for the company and might be an unusual way to one-up on Sony. Typically, the two are in direct competition in terms of release dates, so this would give Microsoft the jump on the next-gen hypeꦦ.

July 23's Xbox Games Showcase gave fans and prospective buyers the opportunity to weigh further justification for purchasing the Xbox Series X. Between Halo Infinite's gameplay reveal and Fable 4's confirmation, Microsoft is firing on all cylinders in 🎉its counter to last month's PS5 reveal. However, whether or not hopefuls are correct about a September Series X rele♛ase grows increasingly unlikely each day that goes by without an update from Microsoft.
