Even 💜if that online multiplayer game is free-to-play, you’re still probably go📖ing to spend money according to a new survey.
Almost 90% of people who play an MMO 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:have spent money on it in-game. This is probably not all that surprising to the developers who actually make these games, but to gamers believing that they’re getting an awesome game without paying a cent? Y♓ou’re definitely in the minority.
A new survey from Top Doll🌸ar asked 1,000 American gamers about their MMO spending habits. Specifically, they asked which games they spend money on and how much. The answer is pr꧙etty astounding: 89% of respondents said that they have spent money on an MMO, and most of them think that they needed to spend in order to remain competitive.
The games most people played can be seen in the infographic below, but the biggest titles were 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:World of Warcraft, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Call of Duty (Warzone or not), 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fortnite, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PUBG, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:GTA Online. Just over 🥂two-thirds (68%) of respondents said that they believed in-game puඣrchases were necessary in order to remain competitive, which is a confusing statistic as many of these games only offer cosmetic rewards.
World of Warcraft? Okay, sure, you have to pay for the expansion, and in Call of Duty you can pay to access both weapons (a function in-game item) as well as cosmetic operator skins, but Fortnite and PUBG are both battle royale games where the playing field requires that every player starts on equal footing. Those games only provide cosmetic rewards for in-game purchases, so it's a bit weird if those players think that a funny skin will make them more competitive. And some like Fortnite and League of Legends are free-to-play,♑ so there's no need 🍬to event spend a cent to compete!
The average total amount spent per lifetime on MMO games is $229, but that number can be misleading. Most gamers spend between $50-$100 on microtransactions in MMOs, but a f♉ew (about 5.6%) spend well over $1,000 on in-game purchases. Women a👍lso tend to spend less cash than men and also use their credit cards, while men tend to use debit cards.
