Nitendo Switch OLED Edition

This beauty was just released a few weeks ago and fans are already praising its larger, better screen and finally-useful kickstand. So if you or a loved one have an older Switch, just throw it right out. Don’t even trade it in or donate it. Just put it in the trash and then pour soup over it real nice and thick so you know it won’t work. It is dead to the person you’re shopping for. The old Switch may have the same computing power and look no different on a television and nobody travels an♏ymore, but it is canceled. If you buy one of the older Switches for a loved one, and their face falls in disappointment, know that you failed. But start looking now as it may be hard to find.

Xbox Series X

The real star of the Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s amazing Game Pass. Think of it as a Netflix for games in that you have dozens of incredible titles to choose from but keep scrolling, hoping that you’ll find something you actually want to play. Oh, make no mistake, there’s good games on there. In fact, some of the games on Game Pass could be considered all-time greats. But do you really want to get into Dragon Age now? No. And Forza Horizon 5 looks amazing. Maybe that one. Wait, it probably has a long tutorial that makes you prove you can ꦉdrive a fake car or something. Crap. Alright, back to Slay the Spire. Also, if you want to get your hands on this new-ish console, start looking immediately, because it may be hard to find.

Boss Fight Books: Silent Hill 2 by Mike Drucker*

You can’t go wrong with any of the Boss Fight Books titles. Each in-depth look into the history and culture surrounding games is an incredible addition to any fan’s library. But hooooo boy, Silent Hill 2 by Mike Drucker sure is great. You want to know how Silent Hill 2 was made? It’s right in there. You want to know how Silent Hill 2 received a lukewarm reception? Right in that book. Interpretation of characters and themes? You bet there’s interpretation. That last part may sound like homework, but it’s not homework! There’s no assignments! You can get it physical or digital. It’s really available anywhere at your convenience. If you love horror video games, you’ll love this book. After the massive success of the PlayStation 4, Sony had a lot to live up to with the PlayStation 5. And they mostly got it right. The PlayStation 5 features superior graphics, amazing sound, and a new controller with some incredible force feedback tricks - all wrapped in a user interface that can best be described as “confusing” and at worst be described as “not any good.” Despite this, the PlayStation 5 has some of the hottest first-party exclusives that might or might not make it to PC right after you buy them. Of course, this consolﷺe powerhouse may be hard to find, so start looking now.
