Developer Build a Rocket Boy's debut action-adventure game MindsEye has been a disaster, with a launch so buggy that it's been likened to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077, causing its Metacritic score to plummet to just 43, 168澳洲幸运5开奖♕网:making it the💫 worst-reviewed game of the year.
Things have gotten so bad that lead actor Alex Hernandez has spoken up about the controversy, giving his two cents on the siꦅtuation. "To me, as a consumer and a gamer, there's a shared frustration," he said in an interview with (via ). "Like, why would you, as a company, release something that seemed to not be r✨eady?"
MindsEye Lead Actor Alex Hernandez Says That More Games Need To Be Comfortable With Delays
Frustrated that the game launched in such an unfinished state, Hernandez has one wish not just for MindsEye, but the industry as a whole: that developers "set a precedent" of "delaying until [a game is] ready". It's clear that the project needed more time in the oven, though Hernandez did also say that the studio can't just "chuck money at a problem" like director Leslie Benzies might have when working at Rockstar as the lead behind GTA 5.
MindsEye isn't his first rodeo: Hernandez also sta𝔉rred as the lead in Mafia 3, a very similar project with very similar problems.
Despite his criticism of MindsEye, Hernandez said that he "had a blast" working on the game, prais🎐ing the supportive environment its developers cultivated, and that he wishes Build A Rocket Boy "success" in its future. "If for no other reason than the gaming environment becomes healthier becuase people are like, 'Wow, what a successful thing. Games are awesome. Maybe t🐠here's more of them, maybe,'" he explained.
However, he doesn't think that the studio should be forgiven for the game's launch♊. "I don't care who you are. I don't care if this is your first game or if its your hundredth game," Hernandez said. "If it's glitchy, it's glitchy. Glitches aren't good. People don't want glitches in their game. That's a pretty ubiquitous statement, right? So, if that's true and people are telling you there are glitches — listen. That might behove you if you want to sell the thing to listen."
