Minecraft Dungeons has𒊎 arrived. Only days into the public release and fans and critics alike are delighting 🌠in the accessibility of the game, as well as the homage it pays to the original Minecraft as well as genre mainstays like Diablo. Now that 🐷many of the 126 miꦇllion active monthly users of the original are switching over to try the new Minecraft Dungeons, players are asking,ꦑ how do we customize our characters?

Given the Bedrock Beta that came out in 2019 gave Minecraft players the ability to customize characters to their heart’s content, this is a very reasonable inquiry, and no doubt a feature that will debut at some point. Currently, the team at Microsoft has seen fit to offer complete starting skins to begin with, and have teased additional DLC to come.𒊎

In terms of customization, players begin with 28 different playable characters, many of whom they may recognize from the prior title. This is noteworthy, given the prior title early access including Alex and Steve (compared to the endless pre made and customization options available today.) Six different locked skins are also available in two planned upcoming DLCs, although players will need to purchase these separately via the Hero Edition for $30, or Hero Pass add-on depending on which version of th꧃e game they are playing.

As seen in the video below, not only can players select one of the 28 characters to begin, they can also switch characters later despite being partway through the game. No penalty, no fees, j✅ust click a new character. The video shows how easily a player can access the available skins.

To change skins, simply follow the instructions on screen by navigating to the main menu where characters are standing by the campfire. When a character is selected, an option ap🌼pears in the bottom right titled, “Change Skin”. From here, new skins can be applied to any existing character. Once selected, confirm your choice and enjoy the new skin.

Unfortunately, further customization is not available at this time. With two known DLC packs on the wa🍌y a▨nd a track record from Microsoft of highly customizable gameplay for the series, enhanced customization seems a realistic hope for the future.
