The Spore have some serious firepower, so you'll need to match it with your own if you want to stand a chance.
Whether you're trying to take down their portals or defeat the mighty Devourer, this guide has everything you need to know to beat the Horde of the Spore. Start stocking up on Redstone - you'll need it!
Horde Of The Spore Piglins
The Horde of the Spore can wear you down with poison- be sure to bring Mossy Golems to cure your mobs, and plenty of Zombies who are unaffected by the toxic shrooms!
Sporebacks are large piglins that throw exploding mushrooms. Any mobs that get hit will be stuck in place for a short time, making them an easy target for Blaze Runts and other ranged attackers. The Hero is unaffected, so don't be afraid to charge the Sporebacks yourself!
Lava Launchers are the biggest piglins around, apart from the Horde Leaders themselves. As their name suggests, they throw balls of burning lava that deal massive damage and set your mobs on fire! When you see one, keep an eye on it at all times so that you can get out of the way when it fires.
How To Destroy A Horde Of The Spore Portal
The Horde of the Spore builds their bases on tall plateaus, ma༒king their Portals hard to reach. There are two ways to destroy their bases; the easy but expensive and time-ဣconsuming way, or the faster but more challenging way.
The easy way is to build a second Gather Redstone Improvement at the Well of Fate, letting you carry up to three hundred Redstone. That's enough to build three Redstone Launchers! Clear out the Netherrack around a base until you can build your Launchers within range of the Portal, then fire away!
You'll probably need to destroy the piglins' towers to protect your Redstone Launchers, and build walls to keep out any counterattacks that the Spore send after you.
A Protector Tower ಌcan be a big help in this sit💝uation!
The harder way is to look for the smallest plateau at the bottom of the base. Clear out the buildings there and build a ramp to the next plateau. Repeat this process until your troops can reach the top of the base and attack the Portal directly. Along the wa🔥y, use the grass under destroyed Nether Spreadeꦅrs to remove Netherrack and place towers or spawners of your own.
How To Defeat The Devourer
When the last Portal belonging to the Horde of the Spore is destroyed, the Devourer will arrive and build one last base nearby. The Devourer throws noxious gobs of goo that deal a lot of damage, and their range is equal to that of a Redstone Launcher - if you're in the Devourer's base, you're a target!
While it's possible to hit the Devourer from afar with Redstone Launchers, this hardly does any damage. You're going to have to climb up and face the Horde Leader directly. Zombies are great for keeping the boss busy while your Skeletons fire volleys of arrows. If your Skeletons fall off of the plateau, don't worry - they can usually hit the Devourer from the ground level until you're able to lead them back up.
While your mobs are fighting, take a group of Cobblestone Golems and tear down any piglin towers near the combat zone. This will help conserve your units, and potentially give you space to build towers of your own, dealing more damage to the boss.
The Devourer will leap to a different plateau when their health reaches seventy percent. They'll do so again at thirty percent. By the time this happens, you'll probably have a solid foothold on the Devourer's previous location, so take the opportunity to build new spawners so that you don't have to go all the way back to the bottom for new mobs.
When the Devourer dies, their Portal is immediately destroyed, removing the Horde of the Spore from the game. There may still be a few squads running around the Overworld, but they won't attack any more Villages.
