That’s right, friends, may have beaten us to the snarky "blockbuster" puns, but it’s true: we’re actually living in a world where a live-action 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Minecraft movie is a thing that’s happening.

If you’ve broken out in a cold sweat just reading those words, we can totally empathize. As all gamers know, video game adaptions of movies or other licensed titles don’t tend to end well. The world will never forgive or forget Superman 64, for ins🗹tance. Why we were flying the almighty Son of Krypton through a series of colorful rings like it was Baby’s First Fligh💛t Sim we still don’t know.

More recently, quality titles like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Arkham games have helped repair some of that damage, but the fact remains: the 𓆏industry has a bad track record with adapting movies and licensed characters. However, what happens when things are reversed and video games become movies?

Well, 1993’s Super Mario Bros. movie happened, for one thing. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:As we’ve previously warned, this hilarious abomination is a travesty wrapped in a disaster wrapped in a shocking Bob Hoskins performance and has absolutely no redeeming qualities of any kind. Velociraptor-esque goombas have never and absolutely will never be excusable.

Elsewhere, 2016’s Warcraft movie wasn’t that horrific, but it hardly set the cinematic world alight. The $433 million it made worldwide beats out The Angry Birds Movie, making it the highest-earning video game adaption ever. It still lost money overall, though, which speaks volumes. Heck, so does the fact that The Angry Birds Movie 2 is coming this August.

With all of that being the case, why in the world shouldn’t there be a Minecraft movie? What harm can it do at this point? There’s clearly going to be some demand for it. The game remains as huge as it ever was (1ജ68澳洲幸运5开奖网:2018 was its most successful year on mobile yetᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ), despite the fact that 🐎it originally launched way back in November 2011.

the Minecraft movie (title TBD) has an official premiere date: March 4, 2022. Whether that feels close or agonizingly far away will depend on your personal feelings about Minecraft. However, one thing’s for sure: they’vღe thought this one through (at least a little).

The report goes on to explain that the movie is being directed by Peter Sollett (of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist), and the team is partnered with Warner B🍸ros. As for the plot, the team promises:

“… We’ll tell you the story of a teenage girl and her unlikely g🌳roup of adventurers. After the malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, they must save theirꦛ beautiful, blocky Overworld.”

Since the movie is only coming out in three years, it remains to be seen whether Minecraft itself will retain gamers’ interest that long. However, it is Minecraft, so we probably shouldn't be worried about that.
