Trading
When you encounter villagers, you'll be able to trade with some of them for items. The more you trade with Villagers, the higher level they become. When a Leatherworker Villager becomes fifth level ("Master") it can trade with you for a saddle! If you're playing on the Java Edition, the trade that a Master Leatherworker offers will always be a saddle.
