Modiphius Entertainment has just launched a new companion app for their tabletop game Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. The app is currently in beta and is avai♏lable on iOS and Android.

The original Fallout game hit shelves in October 1997 and was set in post-apocalyptic 2161, in Southern California. A year later it received its first sequel, Fallout 2, but it would then be another 10 years before the third game in the series, Fallout 3, would grace our shores. In 2015 Bethesda Games released its fourth sequel, Fallout 4. Apart from a lack of originality in naming the games, they all do follow the same timeline, existing at differing points chronologically and geographically. This has continued to be the main story arc, but they have not been the only video games to bare the Fallout name. Several spin-offs have been relꦬeased that support the main titles with of൩fshoot stories and there has also been a digital pinball table set.

Fallout Wasteland is set within the same post-apocalyptic universe as the Fallout video games and shares much of the recent games'. It hit the shelves in 2018 and has had several additional add-ons released since. It is designed for 1-2 players and features three game modes, player vs player, co-op and solo play. Gamers are able to compete using a wide variety of characters from the Fallout universe and play across a variety of seඣttings including the iconic Red Rocket.

Anyone interested in testing the app can sign up for the beta program and are promised the ability to build and manage their forces, including handling tasks such as equipment allocation. The app can also be used during a game to track progress,ℱ with the included damage counters and stat tokens. Players also have the ability to quickly access equipment stats etc. The free content the app 🐬can access mirrors that of the two-player starter set, but players do have the option of buying additional content within the app. Purchasers should be reassured that their in-app purchases will be carried over, once the app moves out of beta.

Having the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare app will be a great accompaniment to the tabletop game. However, for those who have already purchased the physical expansion card sets, it is unclear♌ as to whether they will have to re-purchase them digitally or not, in order to use them within the app. If this is the case then some customers may be put off using the app. Hopefully, there will be a solution that works fo🔯r everyone concerned.
