However, you won't encounter them until a little bit into the game as a boss during part of the main story. You'll have to beat the boss version first for its egg to spawn in other places. It's recommended to bring a monstie with a thunder-based power that hits hard in order to counter the Legiana's speed.
8 Zamtrios
If you miss Tetranodon from Monster Hunter Rise, then Zamtrios has a pretty similar gig. These amphibious shark-like creatures use ice on their legs to get around and they fill their bodies with water like balloons to attack. Like some other monsties, Zamtrios have a niche specialty where the base type of their attacks changes depending on whether they are inflated or not෴.

Their big ears and long nose are so cute that it's easy to forget that it's still a three-star monstie who will definitely give newcomers a run for their money. They are weak to fire, so avoid bringing them to battles with monsties that carry that element.

Since you can't get Gammoth until the endgame, another good choice for a similar powerhouse is the Popo. These herbivores can be found grazing in herds in Loloska and won't hesitate to attack larger monsters they deem a threat. Introduced to the franchise in Monster Hunter 2, Popo are a classic staple of the games. Popo are worth raising because they have the ability to help you find plants easier.

If you ever wondered how something as chonky as Lagombi slides around so smoothly, it's because they have a shell on their underbelly that allows them to smoothly get around on the ice.
