Monster Hunter Stories and its more well-known sequel, 168澳洲幸运ꦺ5开奖网:Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin, the two turned-based JRPG spin-offs of the MH series, feature plenty of monsters fr♏om the previous games that players can hatch, raise, and battle against.

While many monsters do appear in these titles, there are still some that are unobtainable — although they can still be fought against and have their materials used to craft weapons and armor. What's even more surprising is that some monsters haven't appeared in this spin-off series at all, and it isn't always clear why they were excluded in the first place.

10 Blagonga

blagonga renders

Blagonga is a simian Fanged Beast that has been around sꦐince Monster Hunter 2, but despite its age, it has never appeared in any Monster Hunter Stories title alongside similar monsters like Congala✃la and Rajang.

Unlike other simian Fanged Beast monsters, Blagonga are typically seen in snowy environments, where they pick up and throw ice at their opponents, which can inflict a snowman status on inexperienced hunters. Du꧟e to their alpha male status, they can also call smaller Blangos to fight alongside them. Since Monster Hunter Stories 2 has the Loloska area, Blagongas would be a perfect fit for it.

9 Great Macc🅰aoﷺ

great maccao art and render

Given the title of jumping Dog Wyvern, Great Maccao is a Bird Wyvern that was first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations and hasn't yet been seen in any other entries. Like Great Jaggi in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Great Maccao is one of the first large monsters players encounter. It uses its tail as a spring to unleash a series of powerful kicks from its legs.

Despite other Bird Wyverns like Velocidrome, Great Jaggi, and more appearing in Monster Hunter Stories, Great Maccao did not appear in either Monster Hunter Sto🐎ries title. Maybe the developers t💎hought they already had enough monsters from the Bird Wyvern class.

8 Malfestio

malfestio art and render

Malfestio is an owl-lik♑e Bird Wyvern exclusive to Monster Hunter Generations. While it can use its wing claws and talons to attack hunters and prey, it can also make an ultrasound beam that causes sleep and spread pollen that provokes confusion.

This creature has not yet appeared in any Monster Hunter titles outside of Monster Hunter Generations and Generations Ultimate, but it would have been an interesting inclusion to Monster Hunter Stories in that it's a Bird Wyvern that looks the most like a real-life bird. If Monster Hunter Stories gets another entry, hopefully, Malfestio will be in it.

7 ꦐ G🔯ore Magala

gore magala renders

The North American flagship monster of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and the juvenile form of Shagaru Magala, Gore Magala is a monster whose type is still unknown despite being around for nearly a decade. Gore Magala's spore-like scales that it spreads can cause other monsters to be afflicted with the Frenzy Virus, which in turn causes them to behave in more aggressive and unusual ways.

Shagaru Magala, the adult form of Gore Magala, has golden scales but is still capable of spreading the Frenzy Virus. If added in⛦to Monster Hunter Stories, both Magalas could be separately obtainable monsters, s🅠imilar to the juvenile Basarios and adult Gravios.

6 Magnamalo

magnamalo art and render

Magnamalo is a Fanged Wyvern as well as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Rise. While it's understandable that other monsters from Rise didn't make it into Monster Hunter Stories 2 due to being developed around the same time, the Magnamalo could have and should have been added to Monster Hunter Stories 2 alongside the Palamute.

Monster Hunter Rise even has a Magnamalo amiibo that launched around the same time, so it could've helped players obtain the monster a little bit easier after reaching a specific point in the game. For now, Magnamalo will have to remain exclusive to Monster Hunter Rise.

5 Xeno'jiiva

xeno jiva art and render

The final boss of the base Monster Hunter: World, Xeno'Jiiva is a mysterious Elder Dragon, and the juvenile form of Safi'Jiiva, introduced in Monster Hunter: World Iceborne. Since Monster Hunter Stories came out a while before World, it makes sense that no monsters from World appeared in it.

Monster Hunter Stories 2, however, has select monsters from World, including Kulu Yut Ku, Anjanath, Nergigante, and more. Despite Xeno'Jiiva's notability as the final hunt of the base game, it did not appear in Monster Hunter Stories 2. Although if it did, it would likely only be obtainable in the post-game.

4 Banbaro

Banbaro is a Brute Wyvern that was first introduced in the Iceborne expansion of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Hunter: World and will not attack unless provoked. A Banbaro's horns are strong enough to lift massive piles of ground from beneath them and can even uproot large trees.

So far, Banbaro has only appeared in Iceborne, and no other Iceborne exclusive monsters have appeared in Monster Hunter Stories 2, so while its exclusion is understandable, it could have been the sole Iceborne representative in the snowy Loloskaꦡ area. Iceborne only has six exclusive monsters anyway, so it might have been beneficial to at least include to first one encountered.

3 Dodogama

dodogama symbol and render

While toad-like Tetsucabra did make it into Monster Hunter Stories 2, it's one of the few unobtainable monsters in the game. Another monster with Toad-like features, rock-devouring Dodogama, first introduced in Monster Hunter: World, has not yet appeared in a Monster Hunter Stories title — and maybe it should have.

If you're going to put one toad-like Fanged Wyvern in the game and make it unobtainable, why not put the other one in to make up for that odd instance? Primarily since Dodogama is another monster many fans would be familiar with due to its inclusion in Monster Hunter: World

2 Rhenoplos

rhenoplos renders

Aptonoths, one of the most recognizable herbivores from the main series, appear in both the first and second Monster Hunter Stories games. Another herbivore, Larinoth, first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations, appears in Monster Hunter Stories 2 but, for some reason, is not obtainable. Rhenoplos, another well-known saurian herbivore, has not yet appeared in a Mons😼ter Hunter Stories game despite appearing in the main series since Monster Hunter 3.

Why Rhenoplos have never been included in Monster Hunter Stories is unknown, as they're different in appearance and behavior from monsters like Aptonoths and Larinoth. If there's another entry someday, hopefully, Rhenoplos will be a new obtainable monster.

1 Moofah

moofah art and render

Moofahs ar🅘e Alpaca-like herbivores first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations and have not yet appeared in other games. Like Poogies, many have been domesticated and adorned with bells or other items.

The Great Poogie, an obtainable monstie in the first Monster Hunter Stories, was never available in Monster Hunter Stories 2, so it would have made sense to put in the newer Moofah as an obtainable monstie in the game alongside Monster Hunter Rise's Palamute. A juvenile Moofah, named Fenny even appeared in the village of Bherna in Monster Hunter Generations, so there was already a smaller model they could use as a basis.
