10 BEST: ASTERA 🦄
First up in this list is the crown jewel of the new world: As🌌tera. It's a crude but effective sanctuary repurposed out of a ship that the hunters used to get to the new world. This gives Aster a unique appearance in the game. From the very first moment you see it, the game spares no expense to showca𝐆se the whole thing and familiarize the new players to the layout.
Astera contains the most important areas in the game, from the blacksmith to the canteen with the giant buff chef cat that makes meals better than most people. There's no denying the fact that Astera is home for the hunters of the new world-- you can eཧven get your own suite in the game if you're high-ranking enough!
9 🦄 WORST: GREAꦯT RAVINE
Imagine an area so huge and untamed that o♋nly a Godzilla-sized monster with magma skin called Zorah Magdaros can pass through. That's the Great Ravine, one of the most aggressive-looking places in the game that a lot of players would have wanted to explore... until the game denied us the opportunity to because the only way to get there is by fighting Zorah Magdaros.
What's worse, the fight is only🍸 slightly better than quick-timed events (QTEs) meaning you don't exactly get the same level of participation or interactivity with the Great Ravine hunts compared to regular hunts. Essentially, this made the Great Ravine a wasted opportunity for another exotic location and a place that players often avoid since it only contains a poorly executed monster fight.
8 ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ BEST: WILDSPIRE WASTE
It might look like a desert but by no means is Wildspire Waste barren and devoid of interesting stuff.♋ The whole place is teeming with wildlife and🐼 nasty territorial monsters, the most notable of which is Diablos and its female counterpart, Black Diablos. Wildspire Waste also provides a unique opportunity for monsters since a third of the area is made out of sand and the other third is mud.
Some of the monsters ꦗhere are able to burrow and can add a new layer of tactics an💜d strategy to the fights. Additionally, Wildspire Waste has some of the best lighting in the game and is easily a pleasure to explore since you can clearly see everything unlike in a certain forest area.
7 🐻 WORST: CAVERNS OF EL DORADO
This cave and underground network isn't that bad... initially. It's actually a wonder to explore something so huge yet located underground. However, it houses Kulve Taroth, a monster which used to give the best weapons before 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Iceborne expansion launched. The worst part was getting the weapon you want from Kulve Taroth 𓃲is a brutal roulette and gamble due to its randomized nature.
This meant that you had to go the Caverns of El Dorado countless times in order to get the weapon yoಌu want. Some players have easily associated their hatred for the deed with the Caverns. Not only do you get random rewards every time, but you also need a herculean and coordꦑinated effort to defeat Kulve Taroth that the Caverns can soon turn into a torture chamber than an arena.
6 𝕴 BEST: CORAL HIGHLANDS
The Coral Highlands is by far one of the most unique locales in video games to date and is up there with the likes of Vvanderfell in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It's both an alien and familiar location as it takes plac🧜e in what used to be the bottom of a sea, hence the weird combination of words in the area's name.
For many, Coral Highlands is a trip to the bottom of the sea but without the darkness and without the droꦕwning. M❀uch of the undersea biome remains intact and you'll see seaweeds, huge coral formations, and even marine life which have adapted to the change in the environment. The whole place is just dreamy and refreshing!
5 WORS♒T: EL♏DER RECESS
Like the Caverns of El Dorado, Elder Recess isn't inherently bad. The whole place still managedꦇ to be a unique semi-crystallized haven of Elder Dragons and many other High-Rank monsters. It's just that some of the toughest mid to endgame fights iꦜn here can leave you exhausted and bored.
It's here ✃where you'll usually have to "farm" for your endgame decorations in order to achieve the ideal build for your character. That alone is a daunting task and involves a lot of grinding. Coupled with the Elder Recess' apocalyptic atmosphere, it's not exactly a pleasant experience that many players look forward to.
4 𒐪 BEST: SELIANA
Moving on to the Iceborne expansion, we have the frigid equivalent of𒆙 Astera n🃏ear the Hoarfrost Reach, a makeshift town called Seliana. In all respects, it's similar to Astera except it appears a lot cozier and warmer; the buff chef cat has been replaced by a cuter Grammeowster Chef cat who cooks meals that can warm your literally cold heart.
Seliana also has a more Nordic appeara🐽nce with buildings being actual buildings instead of just repurposed ships. Walking around the streets of Seliana is bound to be a more charming experience thanks to the musical theme of the area. Overall, Seliana achieves what it's supposed to do, which is to be a warm respite in the frozen unforgiving place.
3 WORST: ANCIENT FORESTౠ 🎃
The very first area in the game is also 🅷one of the most dreaded for some players, the Ancient Forest. It's a thick primordial junglᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚe with overgrowth so vast, some of the jungle floor is covered entirely by roots instead of soil. The canopy is also sky-high, making certain areas damp and dark.
The framerate? Absolutely murdered by the geomet🌱ry of the tree and plant modeꩲls and this is a lot more noticeable if you're playing on the PC version. Moreover, the hidden twists, turns, and layers of under and overgrowth makes the Ancient Forest one of the hardest areas to traverse.
2 ♐ BEST: HOARF𒁏ROST REACH
Hoarfrost Reach combines the novelty of Wildspire Waste and the brutalও environmental factors in Elder's Recess. However, despite the harshness of this bitter wasteland, there's a certain melancholic beauty to it brought about by all the snow-- something you get to appreciate along with the native creatures in the area.
Of course, let's not forget one of the obvious reasons why Hoarfrost Reach is one of the best areas in this game: the abundance of new monsters brought about by the expansion. Plus, it's a nice gateway to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Master Rank tier which was introduced by Iceborne as an equiv🐼alent of G-Rank for the previous games.
1 🌼 WORST: ROTTEN VALE
The Rotten Vale is located beneath the Co🐎ral Highlands and directly contrasts the beauty of that place. It's an ugly, rancid, and decomposing heap of remains where the most disgusting monsters have taken residence. The place is dark and foul and some of the local fauna can paralyze and poison you, leading to some frustrating encounters which📖 are often avoided.
Lore-wise, the whole place is also the garbage dump of the new world and its monsters are also scavenger🐈s and decomposers with nasty cases of halitosis and freaky appearances. Thankfully, they're nജot all that formidable compared the denizens of Elder Recess though that still doesn't make this area a screenshot spot.
