This Piscine Wyvern is one of the more tedious and annoying fights in the base version of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Hunter World, which is w🍸hy, when the 9-star v൲ersion of it became the best way to farm Decorations, MHW fans were understandably frustrated.

Lavasioth is a decently sized monster first found in Elder's Recess that feels like Capcom just took a Jyuratodos, another Piscine Wyvern that swims around flinging mud at Hunters, and switched mud out for lava. Normally that would be fine, but the whole "Lava Armor" mechanic Lavasioth has is just so frustrating, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and Dire Miralis (a🎶 gig🌃antic magma beast) pulled it off so much better. But, let's take a look at everything Lavasioth has to offer and how to beat it as quickly as possible.

Are The Rewards Worth It?

Obviously, whether an Armor set is "worth it" or not entirely depends on the player, since half of Monster Hunter's appeal is making your Hunter look as cool as possible in your favorite Armor Sets. That said:

  • The Lavasioth Armor Set is pretty "alright" as far as Skills go, the only real standouts are the five stacks of Fire Attack wearing the full set, and the three stacks of Quick Sheath.
  • However, the weapons crafted from the Lavasioth are all pretty good, and most have innate Fire Elemental Damage as well, pairing nicely with the Armor set. There are even two Master Rank Weapons to craft, the Dragonseal Greatsword, and the Dragonseal Aldblade Longsword, both of which have innate Dragon Damage.
  • Additionally, since the Lavasioth is a Tier 2 monster, it's a great method of grinding Warped Feystones, even more so if you take up the "The Name's Lavasioth!" investigation and grind it out.

What Are Its Attacks?

While the Lavasioth actually has a fai🦂r amount of different attacks, a lot of them blend together, and none of them are used more than iﷺts Magma Leap or the Magma Orbs, both of which are a pain to deal with. But, to go over all of them:

Name

Attack Description

Bite

Stares at its target briefly before attempting a chomp on them ꩲat a rather slow pace.

Double Bite

Simply put, the 🐽Lavasioth just goes♈ in for another bite after the first one.

Body Slam

More of a tackle and less of a slam, it charges forward using the side of its body first, almost like a⛄ hockey checꦫk.

Slither Charge

Charges from one end oꦿf the stage to theꦆ other without using its limbs, slithering like a serpent or like a dolphin swimming underwater.

Tail Swing

Br𓄧iefly winds up, then s💟pins around at a slow pace with its tail outstretched.

Jump Attack

Afꦓter a brief period of staring off into space, Lavasioth jumps forward slightly, landing on your current location.

Magma Orb

After rearing its head quickly, Lavasioth "belches" a ball of magma forward eitღher at close range or at lonꦬg range, leaves a lava spot behind. Can be done on the ground or while in the lava pools.

Large Magma Orb

Has a much more obvious "buildup"🌄; to expelling the Magma Orb, as well as causing a large explosion on impact. By far its most deadly attack.

Magma Leap

Digs underground before leaping🥀 out of the lava next to the Hunter💮, spreading little magma puddles around.

Magma Leap Transfer

Instead of leaping out of the Lava pool and back onto solid ground, the L﷽avasioth hops betweꩲen lava pools, spreading magma as it flies through the air.

Lavasioth's "Hardened State"

Monster Hunter World - Lavasioth Covered In Lava And Getting Ready To Bite

You might notice over the course of the battle that Lavasioth's appearance changes a bit throughout the fight. When it first hops out of the lava, the cracks of magma on its body will be glowing and fresh. But, the longer it stays out of the lava, the more this lava on its body will harden. And, once it gets to its "Hardened State" most standard attacks bounce of the Lavasioth until it softens up once again.

To counteract this:

  • Attack it with any fire-attribute weapon, as the heat keeps the lava from hardening and keeps Lavasioth vulnerable.
  • Or, alternatively, if you don't have a fire weapon, use Torch Pods instead.
  • Use "Heavy Weapons" like the Gunlance, Charge Axe, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and Heavy Bowgun to just brute force through its touch skin.
  • Lastly, if you use the Mind's Eye or Ballistics skills, you won't have to worry about attacks bouncing off at all.

Other Combat Tactics:

  • Aim for its head and its soft underbelly, as these are its two Weak Points.
  • Use water-element damage overall, as it's Lavasioth's weakest element, getting even weaker to it once it fully hardens.
  • Poison is a fantastic way to tick away at its health while waiting for it to soften up. And, for some reason, while poisoned it doesn't seem to spit the Magma Orbs at all.
  • Like most MHW fights168澳洲幸运5开奖网: and other games like it, sticking to the creature's sides while attacking is the safest course of action.

Equipment Tips

Monster Hunter World - Using Ranged Weapons On Lavasioth

Bring Screamer Pods

Sometimes Lavasioth digs underground constantly, sometimes it's rarely, if at all. But, when it does burrow underground in an attempt to re-surface in the lava pool, use a Screamer Pod to force it out of the ground like you would Diablos. Doing this forc🍸es the Lavasioth to writhe around for a few seconds, exposing its tender underbell🎃y.

Carry Your Fireproof Mantle

There's no excuse when it comes to bringing Mantle's in MHW. For every fight, you should have a Mantle ready to go (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:usually the Rocksteady Mantle). And, for the Lavasioth confrontation, the Fireproof Mantle is very helpful. It heavily reduces fire damage, nullifies fireblight, and prevents passive damage when you're in hot environments.

Sort of makes ෴sense that it would be useful in the volcanic biome fighting against a creature that spits balls of molten magma at you.

The Clutch Claw Comes In Clutch

Once again, the Clutch♍ Claw, one of the many new features added in the Iceborne expansion plays a big part in making the Lavasioth fight easier if used. Because it can create weak points, players can simply use it to get a free grapple, turn the head into a weak point, then beat on it no matter what "state" the Lavasioth is in.

Armor Skills To Bring

  • Mind's Eye and Ballistics: Mentioned earlier, makes it so attacks won't bounce off of the Hardened Lavasioth anymore.
  • Fire Resistance: An obvious pick, but not necessarily required for those bringing the Fireproof Mantle.
  • Water Attack: Since the Lavasioth is so incredibly weak to water, if you have a water weapon, using this Armor Skill melts its HP in no time flat.
  • Clutch Claw Boost: The longer Lavasioth's parts are "tender" from the Clutch Claw, the more damage Hunters can output.
