Fey Wyvern Gems are one such Master Rank material,🌃 and they are required to make some valuable equipment based on monste✅rs like Pukei-Pukei and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku. While they are rare acquisitions, there are a few ways to ensure you get as many as you possibly can. We can point you in the right direction, whether you want to use a quest with a 100% drop rate or focus on investigations with the best chance of success.
Monsters That Drop Fey Wyvern Gems
As with the vast majority of materials in the game, you can get Fey Wyvern Gems by hunting certain monsters. It's possible to get the gems from five different sources:
- As drops when you Carve a defeated monster. There are also separate chances to get materials by carving the severed Tail of a monster.
- As a reward at the end of a quest when you Hunt a monster.
- As a reward at the end of a quest when you Capture a monster.
- As a reward for an Investigation into that monster.
- As drops when your Palico uses the Plunderblade tool on a monster.
The table below details the chances of acquiring a Fey Wyvern Gem when hunting one of the monsters that drop them. In the Investigations column, the percentage🔯s are for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Investigations respe✅ctively.

From the table above we can see that Bronze rank Investigations into Yian Garuga or Scarred Yian Garuga will not ඣhave a chance of dropping a Fey Wyvern Gem, but Gold rank Investigations will have the best chance.
Quests That Reward Fey Wyvern Gems
There are five quests in the game that may reward you with Fey Wyvern Gems, with one of them being a 100 percent chance.
- Yodeling in the Forest - Hunt an Anjanath, Rathalos, Nargacuga, Yian Garuga, and Rajang
- Symphony of the Coral - Hunt a Paolumu, Legiana, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Ebony Odogaron, and Zinogre
- Don't Forget the Earplugs - Hunt a Yian Garuga
- Put That Red Cup Away - Hunt a Coral Pukei-Pukei
- Colorful Carnival - Hunt a Kulu-Ya-Ku, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Pukei-Pukei, and Coral Pukei-Pukei
The first two quests in this list have a five percent chance of dropping a Fey Wyve🔯rn Gem, and the quests to hunt a Yian Garuga and a Coral Pukei-Pukei have an 11 and eight percent chance, respectively.
The Don't Forget the Earplugs quest is particularly good as it takes place in the Arena, so it should be an easy quest to complete ꩵin a short amount of time.
The Colorful Carnival quest, however, is the best one to take on if you need Fey Wyvern Gems specifically - it will always drop one and has a one percent chance to drop two.
