Monster Train, developed by Shiny Shoe and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, is a delightful, addictive, genre-bending🍃 deck-builder. It can be a lot for a player new to the genre to take in, and there is a lot of depth to master in t♋he game, as well.

Every run in Monster Train boils down to a series of difficult decisions - where to place your units, which relics to pick up, which cards to ditch. We've built a short guide on some of the more important decisions that should help players achieve their first real victory in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Train.

Note that some images may include minor spoilers for which clans can be unlocked in the game.

Choose Your Challenges Carefully

Before each battle in Monster Train, you'll be presented with a choice: do you accept a greater challenge, with a chance at great♔er rewards, or fight the enemies at "normal" difficulty. The rewards are often, but not always, worth the risk. Some decks, even at the very beginning, are well-equipped to deal with certain challenges.

For example, one challenge a player might face will add spikes to each non-Boss enemy, which damage any of your units that attack them. If your deck relies on direct combat, or has a number of low-health units (or a low-health here), this can b꧒e a bad choice. However, a deck filled with damaging spells can 🎶take out enemies before their spikes can make a difference.

Another example would the Mark Of Invasion, wꦇhich starts the battle with (relatively fragile) enemies o✱n each floor. Even if you don't have the spells or units to take them out quickly, allowing one full floor of these units to reach your Pyre isn't the end of the world. Consider trading 20 damage to your Pyre for whatever listed rewards are - it may actually be worthwhile.

Dump Your Bad Cards

Alas, poor Train Steward

At every opportunity, you should be removing your starter cards from your deck. By the end of a run, most of them will just be taking up space, and drawing a Train Steward when you really want to draw your fully upgraded A🐠lpha Fiend is just painful.

This means not only casting these starter cards into the void when you come across it, but also spending some of your cash at the merchants to toss thes꧂e cards, as well.

In addition to releasing filler cards from your deck, try not to co𒆙llect any more filler cards, either. It's ok to pass on picking up new cards every now and then if the selection isn't ideal, and with limited space on the train, you don't need to grab a unit from every draft that comes your way.

Plan Things Out

Limbo, and your first decisions in Monster Train

Monster Train isn't a race. Well, unless you're playing multipla🗹yer, but we're not covering that right now.

Take your time. Breathe. Think through your turn, and🌞 think through how you want to take advantage of your between-battle rewards.

On eachꦓ of your turns, it sometimes mi🎀ght be obvious to you at first what you want to do, only for you to realize you got a bit of tunnel vision from seeing one card pop up more than others. Check each card in your hand before you make your decision, and plan your whole turn out before you start playing anything.

It's important to feed your Champion in Monster Train.

When you're on the rail,🗹 it's not always easy to know which order♏ to collect these rewards. Typically, the best order is:

  • Pyre Remnants and Void, to heal your Pyre and dump unwanted cards;
  • Herzal's Hoards, to collect an artifact (which might impact how you upgrade cards later)
  • Unit Drafts (in case you pick up a card you want to upgrade)
  • Frozen Caverns (as above, in case you pick up a card you want to upgrade)
  • and lastly, Merchants to upgrade your units and spells.

But sometimes a🗹 Frozen Cavern might be best AFTER you've upgraded cards, in case it gives you the chance to multiply something valuable.

Another tip: all relics cost around 200 gold, so if you have a relic merchant coming up (you can check w🏅ith the map in the upper right hand corner), that may be a good time to go for a challenge that net𒊎s you just enough to bring you above 200 or 400.

Victory!

Ah, sweet victory.

Monster Train is by no means an easy game♎, but it can be made more difficult by rushing through it without thinking t♚hings through. Just keep calm and keep the train rolling.
