A cult classic from the original PlayStation is finally leaving Japan and coming to Nintendo Switch, as Moon: Remix RPG Adventure (now localized as Moon) will be released on August 27.
Moon: Remix RPG Adventure was a bizarre JRPG that was released for the original PlayStation back in 1997. The game parodied and played with the tropes of the JRPGs from the 16-bit era. An English localization of Moon: Remix RPG Adventure was planned back in 1997, but it never came to pass and the game remained in Japan. Moon: Remix RPG Adventure received a huge resurgence of interest in 2017 when Toby Fox called it one of the biggest inspirations for Undertale. Moon: Remix RPG Adventure has since been ported to the Nintendo Switch in Japan, where it performed the amazing feat of stealing the #1 spot in the eShop charts from Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition.
The Moon: Remix RPG Adventure English website was recently created and it came with a timer. That timer has now reached zero and the first details of the localization have been revealed. Moon: Remix RPG Adventure is now called Moon and it will be coming ✨to Nintendo Switch in Europe and North America on August 27, 2020. The game will cost $18.99/€15.99/£14.49. An English trailer for the game is now available on the OnionGames YouTube page.
The fact that the game inspired Undertale should come as no surprise, going on the trailer and information on the website. Moon stars a young boy who is sucked into his TV set on the night of a full moon and must restore the souls of monsters who were slain in battle. The goal of the game is to use love to save the world, which has Undertale written all over it.
Moon is a game that was cruelly overlooked in its time and it has a chance to find a new fanbase in the modern era, especially with the help of Fox's praise for the game. We'll know soon enough if Moon is worthy of the atten𒈔tion, as it🍸s release is only a month away.
Moon is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2020.
