Moon is very much a product of the late '90s, which is why the game never explains how to fast travel between locations. This is why we have created this helpful guide for new Moon players to navigate the world map without ⛄the frustration.

Moon is kind of like Shenmue III, as the player's stamina is almost always depleting whenever they do something. As such, it's possible to die on the 🍎w🍸orld map or in the middle of a quest, and the fact that the game only saves whenever the character sleeps in a bed (and progresses time) is no doubt going to frustrate a lot of new players. There are two fast travel methods in the game, but they require some explanation, as the game never bothers to help the player out by introducing them.

Plant Fast Travel

Moon Stamen

Once the player has so♍lved the rainbow projector puzzle, they will be given their own home where they can rest/save. There is a plant outside of the house that acts as a one-way fast travel system to different parts of the world map. The player will need to unlock these fast travel points by finding three stamens, which look like curled plants (as seen in the picture above). The stamens can be found in Rainbow Rocks, Tropical Fields, and Mushroom Forest. When the player speaks to the stamens, they will give them a piece of food. Give these pieces of food to the plant back at the house in order to unlock the stamens as fast travel points. Feeding the plant all three pieces of food will also unlock a Love point.

Octopus Fast Travel

Moon Octolips

By far the most useful items in Moon are the Octolips, as they allow the player to instantly return to their home. This is helpful if they are about to die from stamina loss, as they can easily jump into bed from any point in order to restore their health and save their progress. The pla💧yer needs to complete a quest before they can purchase any Octolips.

If the player goes south from the house into the Tropical Fields, they will find a cave entrance on the west side of the map. Inside this cave is man who cannot sleep, as he is being tormented by the spirit of one of the slain animals. He's so exhausted that he cannot open his shop. In order to knock him out, the player needs to visit the general store in the castle town and wait for the shopkeeper to descend to the lower floor. He will have a different selection of items, including a bottle of chloroform. ♔Buy a bottle of chloroform and use it on the shopkeeper in the cave. This will cause the spirit to appear, allowing you to catch it and claim a Love point. The next time you visit the shopkeeper in the cave, he will have opened his store and will start selling Octolips. The player should stock up on four or five if they have the cash.
