According to TheThiny, who dug into MK1's files, "The mysterious Lin Kuei lady, and Cyrax of the Shirai Ryu, are one person. Cyrax is now a woman." Initially, dataminers believed the strings they had found were referencing Frost or Sareena, meaning that they would join the main roster in DLC, but @annoyed_sister and TheThiny discovered that most of the dialogue they had uncovered was, in fact, referencing Cyrax, now using she/her pronouns.
The datamine also reveals that Noob Saibot will be the third DLC character. According to leaks, it's still Bi-Han, transformed from Sub-Zero to Noob by Titan Havik.
For context, during the eventꦿs of the st😼ory, Bi-Han betrays Liu Kang and his oath to protect Earthrealm, clutching for power by siding with Quan-Chi and Shang Tsung. Smoke and Scorpion leave to form the Shirai Ryu, whom Liu Kang goes to help at the end of the campaign.
According to dataminers, the Lin Kuei expansion will follow from this and we'll see Kuai Liang's wedding with Harumi at the Wu Shi Academy, but Bi-Han and his Lin Kuei stage a surprise attack. Defeated, they're taken prisoner, but while Scorpion and the Shirai Ryu decide what to do with them, Titan Havik and his Chaos Warriors also attack.
It turns out t𝓡hat Havik has kidnapped Geras and wants to use his reality-shaping abilities to affect other timelines. He even has a colosseum where he makes variants across the multiverse f😼ight to the death.
Scorpion and the Lin Keui are forced to work together to save Geras, and Bi-Han is even the one to defeat Havik. Because of 🐬this, he is spared, but forced to step down from the Lin Kuei, with Sektor takin🙈g his place as Grandmaster. He also, at some point, asks Liu Kang for help to "save Bi-Han and return him to normal".
This is an abridged version and if you're not fussed about spoilers, but the gist is that MK1's first expansion will tie up all loose ends from the main story, with some interesting changes to what we know.
