That is according to NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella, who has also revealed that MK11 is the top-selling game this year so far. The NetherRealm title finished the month of April as the best seller, with Days Gone just in behind. Also, MK11 sales have nearly doubled the comparable sales of any previous game from the series, which makes it Mortal Kombat's best-selling title to date.

Piscatella also notes that the total spending for game-related purchases - covering hardware, software, and accessories - grossed over $641 million, an 11 percent decrease when compared to the same timeframe in 2018. Year-to-date sales for this 🌟year marked a three percent decrease, with a slight decrease in hardware buys said toও be responsible.
Software sales in May went down as well, dropping 13 percent to bring in $262 million when compared to the sa﷽me period a year ago. This marks the lowest software sales for the month of May in six years.
Of course, this is because there weren't any major rel𓃲eases during the month, at least none from big publishers. In fact, May 2019 experienced the lowest new title sales since May 1998.
MK11 and Days Gone alwaജys stood to benefit from a month light on releases, but they probably would have kept pulling sales anyway. Let's🎀 see how the titles do at the end of June.
