Kabal’s Brutality has been uncensored in Mortal Kombat 11 thanks to the latest pat🍰ch and we’re not entirely sur🐲e why.

Kabal has always been kind of a weird character. Introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 as a dude with hooked swords and a bizarre respirator covering 🔯his face, his origins♈ were shrouded in as much mystery as what he actually looked like under the mask.

One of his original Fatalities was to remove that mask to reveal a hideously disfigured face. So hideous, in fact, that it scared the soul right o🌳ut of his enemy, leaving the opponent to falꦦl over dead.

A nod to that original Fatality was included in Mortal Kombat 11 as a Brutality, but with one notable exception. Since it was easy to make something appear hideous in the pixelated days of Mortal Kombat 3, that game showed the audience just what Kabal looked like. That’s not true on today’s modern consoles, which can render a face down to its pores. So instead, NeathRealm pixel✱ated Kabal’s revealed face for comedic effect.

You c🐈an see an example of the original Brutality here:

It also meant t🉐hat the developer didn’t need to create a terrifying visage for Kabal, which probably saved th♋em a lot of time an effort.

However, the latest patch for MK11 seems to have removed that pixe✱lation so that we can see what’s going on under the mask. And what’s going on is fran𝔉kly more hilarious than disturbing.

Rather than showing a face disfigured by fire and violence,▨ we see a pair of googly eyes and hair that stands on end. And that’s it.

Why did the latest Mortal Kombat patch remove the pixelation? We’re not really sure. We know that the patch added a bunc💮h of other Brutalities for players to discover, but Kabal’s is less a new Brutality and more an added layer to the𒅌 original joke.

Whether or not you think it was a mistake to remove the pixelation is a matter of personal taste. We think it’s kinda fun to see what’s going on behind the scenes (since the current animation was obviously done just to make the pixelation slightly more interesting), but we admit it’s a little childish for Mortal Kombat.

Then again, Mortal Kombat has alwꦜays had a character that punches people in the gro൲in, so maybe childish really isn’t all that off-brand.
