The new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat film🐽 has been in the works for a long time, but 𝄹a trailer has finally hit the Internet a couple of months ahead of its April 16th release. For the most part, fans are excited about this new interpretation of the legendary video game franchise.
However, a few things are still giving some ♔people pause. Ultimately, most signs point to this being perhaps one of the best adaptations of a video game since the first Mortal Kombat film from 1995. Something about the franchise makes it a solid candidate for a big screen adaptation, we suppose.
10 Worried:༺ Release During The Pandemic
This has nothing to do with the actual quality of the film, but more about its prospects of success. Some movies are having a hard time generating buzz and, more importantly, money. Thankfully, Mortal Kombat is also receiving a release on HBO Max at the same time that it hits theaters, which will hopefully help it in the long run. It still have a chance at box office su𓄧ccess in countries where theaters are more or less running regularly
9 Excited: The Trailer ꧟ 🐻
For many fans, almost all worries were assuaged upon seeing the trailer on February 18th. Everything about the small sneak peak hypes people up, from the characters to the small flashes of extreme violence. Making a good trailer is a separate art form from filmmaking, and whoever edited toge🅺ther this one deserves commendation. The new arrangement of the classic theme goes a long way 🏅towards getting our blood pumping.
8 ꧒ Worried: Will The CGI Hold Up On A Big Screen
A lot of people watch trailers on a laptop or a phone. This makes u🔜s wonder if the bits of CGI we see will hold up on a larger screen or even on a nice HD television in the living room💝.
Given the fan✅tastic nature of the source material, we would not expect CGI to be entirely excluded, but we just hope it looks good. Fortunately, the director has stated his dedication for using practical sets whenever reasonable.
7 Excitedꦗ: The Characters' Designs 🍬
The overall aesthetic of the movie perfectly captures the Mortal Kombat spirit. It is extremely difficult to bring some of these designs to life without looking silly, but what we see in the trailer is already promising. Eveꦫrybody is immediately recognizable, showing they are fully embracing the video game's look. Director Simon McQuoid has talked about how much work and effort went into getting the characters' looks just right.
6 ♌ 🙈 Worried: No Kitana
Many of the franchise's most iconic characters are present in the trailer. One notable exception is Kitana. First introduced in Mortal Kombat 2, she quickly became a fan favorite and integral part of the lore. With 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mileena's inclusion it seems even weirder for her to be absent. Mileena is Kitana's sister, and technically a clone created from her and Tarkatan DNA, so introducing her first is an interesting choice. Perhaps Kitana will be in the final movie th🌞ough, and maybe she is just missing from the trailer.
5 Excited: 🅰Joe Taslim 💖
In the role of Sub-Zero is Joe Taslim. His name may not be immediately recognizable, but you probably saw him in either Fast and Furious 6 or Star Trek Beyond. Those who dive a little deeper into action movies have no doubt seen modern cl♍assics like The Raid: Redemption or The Night Comes For Us.
His martial arts prowess is evident in all his roles. We hope they gave him some intense choreography to match the fight scenes of The Raid and The Night🧸 Comes For Us.
4 ༒ Worried: Balancing So Many Characters
This is a problem not unique 🐬to a Mortal Kombat film adaptation. With most movies running between 90 minutes and two hours, balancing an ensemble cast is always a challenge. How do you make an audience care for so many characters in such a relatively short timespan? Fans at least have a lot of context for what they will see on screen, but those who do not play games will not know the backstories.
3 𝕴 Excited: Sub Zero And Scorpion Origins
Sub-Zero and Scorpion are already confirmed to be a big part of the movie, with the intro reportedly showcasing the origins of their feud. They are two of the most iconic characters in the franchise, and perhaps all of gaming, so seeing more attention given to their conflict in the film is promising. We wonder if Sub-Zero will bite the dust by this film's end and come back in the future as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Noob Saibot.
2 Worried: C💯ole
The movie is introducing an entirely new character named Cole. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Because of the giant roster, the filmmakers felt they could add a new face without straying too far from the spirit of the🌳 franchise. While we are not against new characters, it feels like it could take time away from the familiar faces we want to see. Why make a new character when there are countless iconic personalities who could be in the film instead? Who knows, though; maybe Cole will fit right in and become a new favorite.
1 Excited: Violence 😼
You don't have to be a gore hound to understand and appreciate the importance of violence in the Mortal Kombat franchise. The almost cartoonish amounts of blood goes a long way towards establishing the franchise's tone, especially with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fatalities. While the stakes are high, with the entire world often on the li✅ne, dark humor permeates through much of the games. We'll no doubt see some comedic relief in this film, sometimes associated with the violence. Some kills will make us cringe,ღ others will make us chuckle, and a select few will make us do both.
