It is also revealed that he is a member of the Lin Kuei clan, and he had been sent on a mission to end the bloodline of Hiroyuki Sanada, a member of the rival Shirai Ryu clan. Fans of the game would no doubt recognize his target as the man who would later become the undead ninja specter, Scorpion, so it was a nice touch seeing the origins of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:their long-running rivalry brought to life on the big screen.

While we are still on the topic of the opening scene, after Hiroyuki Sanada returns to the village to find his clan members and family murdered, he goes on a murdering rampage of his own. And in the midst of this, he picks up 🐭a nearby kunai an꧙d attaches it to some yards of rope to use as a ranged weapon against his attackers.

Eagle-eyed fans would immediately recognize this as Scorpion's signature weapon. So this can effectively be thought of as the origin of the iconic weapon. It wasn't until much later in the film that we finally see Scorpion in his video game form, though it was clear that the weapo♊n wasn't fused to his body like it was in the 1995 film.

6 Reptile's Apღpearance

In one of the earlier fights in the movie, Sonya Blade and Cole Young are attacked by an invisible monster while holding Kano in capt🉐ivity. The three of them would eventually have to work together in order to defeat it, giving fans theiౠr very first fatality of the movie.

To casual viewers though, this was nothing more than a generic monster sent to stop the Earthrealm warriors. And while Shang Tsung had merely referred to it as the reptilian, Syzoth, before it was dispatched, fans of the game would recognize him as the lizardlike fighter called Reptile, originally introduced as 168澳ꦐ洲幸运5开奖网:a secret fighter in th🅠e very first game.

5 🅰 Liu Kang And Kung Lao's Relationship

While Sonya 🎶is narrating the history of the Mortal Kombat tournament, a mural is shown where a man can be seen standing over the body of his fallen opponent. This is no doubt a reference to The Great Kung Lao, the very first fighter to defend the Earthrealm in the tournament's history.

The Great Kung Lao had gone on to win that particular tournament, defeating Shang Tsung and ending his 9-wins winning streak. In the movie, Shang Tsung also m💦entions𓄧 that they'd defeated Earthrealm nine times once again, and his willingness to use backhand tactics to defeat Earthrealm ahead of the next tournament points to lingering fears over his previous defeat at the hands of the Great Kung Lao.

3 S🐈hao Khan's Statue

Long-time fans of the Mortal Kombat games would remember Shang Tsung as the original antagonist of the series, much like in this latest film. But as we found out through subseq🍸uent games, he was in fact working for the true ruler of the Outworld, Shao Kahn.

The powerful emperor had ruled over the Outworld for thousands of years, as well 🦋as conquered other realms like Edenia. In his latest conquest, he seeks to conquer the Earthrealm by having his forces defeat its warriors through the Mortal Kombat tournament. While he does not make an appearance in the film, his presence can still be felt and his likeness seen in the form of a statue erected in his honor.

2 Jax's Metal Arms ❀

When Jackson Briggs (aka Jax) is first introduced in the new movie, it was as a regular special forces agent tracking down the main protagonist, Cole Young, in p🧸reparation for the forthcoming tournament. But following an encounter with Sub-Zero, his two arms are ripped off by the 🧔deadly assassin and he is left for dead.

Flash forward to ♔later on in the film and he can be seen recuperating under the protection of Lord Raiden and his Earthrealm monks. And while it is not immediately revealed what would become of Jax at that point, fans of the game could already see where this was going. It wasn't long after ღthat that he would be seen rocking his iconic metal arms.

Followi💧ng his death at the start of the movie, Hiroyuki Sanada's body can be seen being engulfed by flames before disappearing completely. He would not be seen again until the climactic fight at the end of the film, where he app🍎ears resurrected as the undead ninja specter, Scorpion.

But according to the film's timeline, he'd been gone for over 400 years before that reappearance. And in all that time, he'd been trapped in a place called the Netherrealm. To casual viewers, this was nothing more than a fiery hellscape where the soul🌟s of the dead are constantly tortured. But fans of the games would know it as home to many of the games' iconic characters like Quan Chi, Noob Saibot, Smoke, and of course, Scorpion.
