Now that the new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat movie is out in (most) theaters and streaming on HBO Max, fans of the games can see just how well their favorite characters have made the transition to live-action. This is of course not the first time they'll be making that jump, as we'd gotten the first adaptation b🐲ack in 1995, which was followed by a 1997 sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Both films were far from perfect, but their characters had at least proven to be somewhat faithful to the looks of their video game counterparts at the time. Those characters have gone through 168澳🐟洲幸运5开奖🎐网:many changes and iterations through the years though, so for this particular comparison, we'll be pitting the charac♏ters from the new movie against their counterparts in the various gamesꦯ in the series.

Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat film and game

Sonya is one of theꦏ original characters introduced in the very first game, and in the latest movie, she is portrayed by Jessica McNamee. In it, she sports a look that is closer to her classic outfit from the 2D games, albeit less colorful or 80s-workout-video inspired.

13 🎐 Jackson "Jax🅷" Briggs

Jax in the Mortal Kombat film and game

Jax is played by Mehcad Brooks in the latest film, and although he is initially introduced as a regular police officer, he is eventually seen sporting his signature metallic arm♌s from the games after a deadly run-in with Sub-Zero at the start of the film.

12 Liu Kang

Whil❀e he might have been relegated to a lesser role than the one he'd enjoyed in the earlier films and games, Liu Kang can still be seen giving bicycle kicks in this latest Mortal Komba♎t film. 10 Kung Lao

Kung Lao in the Mortal Kombat film and game

Max Huang plays Kung Lao, the hat-wielding monk that first appeared in the video games in Mortal Kombat II. Since then, he has been a re🎶gular on the🌳 roster of fighters (save for Mortal Kombat: Deception), and he proved just as deadly in the new movie as his various video game incarnations.

9 Raiden

Raiden in the Mortal Kombat film and game

The God of Thunder was portrayed by Tadanobu Asano in the newꦫ movie, where he served as guardian and protector to the fighters of the Earthrealm. 8 Shang♎ Tsung

Shang Tsung in the Mortal Kombat film and game

As the villainous leader of the Outworld fighters, Shang Tsung was once again the main antagonist in the new movie. 6 Nitara

Nitara in the Mortal Kombat film and game

Although she only had a relatively small role in the film, Nitara's big-screen version (played by Mel Jarnson) was very representative of the vampire lady that was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. That game had been released on the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, aꦦnd Game Boy Advance in 2002, and the character has received several appearances and cameos since then.

5 Reiko

Reiko in the Mortal Kombat film and game

Introduced in Mortal Kombat 4, Reiko also makes an appearance in the latest Mortal Kombat film, where he is played by Nathan Jones. He was also relegated to henchman status for most of the film, unfortunꦐately, making his depiction one of the more disappointing aspects of the new movie.
