Sub-Zero’s freezing powers are due to his ancestors being Cryomancers, an ancient race who are natives of Edenia with the powers to manipulate the moisture around them and turn it into ice. He was born into theꦇ and rose to become its Grand Master. Although lore-wise there have been two playable Sub-Zeros (Kuai Lian and Bi-Han), we’re going to focus mostly on Kuai Lian as he’s the current holder of the name.

In case you’re wondering who Bi-Han is, he’s Kuai Lian’s older brother. That, and he's the Sub-Zero you play as in the original 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat game and the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mythologies spin-off. So with that bit of familial history done and explained, these are Sub-Zero 10 best special attacks in all of Mortal Kombat.

10 Ice Armor

Sub-Zero is one of the few fighters who can be played defensively to gain advantage, and it's mostly thanks to abilities like Ice Clone and Ice Pool. But he also has a few tools that he can use 🐎to enhance his own defense, such as Ice Armor.

Ice Armor makes Sub-Zero immune to chi🦩p damage, and if it’s enhanced it also reduces the damage he receives from most sources. This move is quick to cast, so players should use it whenever possible to avoid receiving small amounts of damage.

9 Ice Burst

This move makes Sub-Zero cast a ball of ice which he then smashes it with one of his hands, knocking back all enemies who are close enough to the blast o💝ne. It isn’t exactly flashy nor useful to play on the offense, but it has its uses.

You can cast this special move to blast away jumping enemies, as they rarely have the o💞ption to defend themselves once they have started the jump-attack animation. And if you’re in a pinch, you can use it to quickly blast opponents away or to end an opponent’s Kombo if you time it riꦛght.

8 🍸 Ice Shower

Do you want to give your opponents a surprise Ice Bucket Challenge? Well, you can do it with this special ability. This move first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3, and makes Sub-Zero throw a torrent of cold liquid up in the air, which then rains down on the ene🧸my freezing them.

It's not as pr💮actical nor straightforward as the Ice Ball, but it can be used to surprise an opponent who’s sitting from afar. It also has three varieties, although the only difference between them is t🃏heir launch distance.

7 Ice Pool

Yes, Sub-Zero can make his own ice pools, although they’re not literal pools filled with ice, it's more like patches of ground that have been covered in slippery ice. This was one of the franchise's firsts traps, and it was first implemented in Mortal Kombat II.

Once Sub-Zero uses Ice Pool on the ground, the ice becomes a trap that will make opponents lose their balance if they step on it. It doesn’t affect the Sub-Zero that casts it, so you 𒈔ꦕcan use it to catch your enemy off-guard to follow up with a Kombo.

6 Ice Clone

Bi-Han (the OG Sub-Zero) once said that his clan, the Lin Kuei, were not ninjas but Chinese assassins. But c’mon, he dresses like a ninja, fights like a ninja and can even summon clones! Mayb൩e someone should tell him to at least change his clothing style.

Anyway, unlike , the Ice Clones cannot move, they’re more like ice sculptures made in Sub-Zero’s own image. If an opponent touches a clone, they’ll get frozen for a brief time. In Mortal Kombat X Sub-Zero enhanced his clones, to the point where they could absorb projectiles and be thrown to his opponents. Sadly, this amazing move was cut out of Mortal Kombat 11﷽ for curꦬrently unknown reasons. Not cool, NetherRealm Studios.

5 ꦫ Ice Weapo𝓀ns

In Mortal Kombat X, if a player selects the Cryomancer fighting variation, Sub-Zero will gain the ability to create ice weapons from the very air. This serves him to enhance most of his p🍸hysical abilities, and also to power up some of his Kombos.

It also lets him crea꧃te an Ice Hammer, which he uses to do a slow but powerful attack that has a big impact zone. You can use it to start Kombos when the enemy is still in the air, as it leaves they with few options to defend🅷 themselves against follow-ups.

4 🐼 🏅 Cold Shoulder

Sub-Zero might be known for his ice based abil♉ities, but he would never give a cold shoulder to his allies. In all seriousness, while it would be funny to see Sub-Zero damage his enemies by ignoring them, Cold Shoulder just makes him do a quick and powerful shou🧔lder bash.

In some games, C🐼old Shoulder replaces Ice Slide, as both function in a somewhat similar way. You can use it to close the gap with a bang, finish Kombos or push away an opponent if you need some ✅space or break away.

3 ℱ Death-Icicle Barrage

Death-Icicle Barrage first appeared in Mortal Kombat 11 as one of Sub-Zero’s equippable abilities. This special move makes Sub-Zero 🐠throw a barrage of totally-not kunais made of ice to his adversary (remember, Lin Kuei aren't ninjas).

This move covers a somewhat small distance and it can💝 deal a lot of damage if it lands. As a projectile, Ice Barrage isn’t exactly that useful, so it’d be bet💧ter to use it to finish Kombos that leave opponents on the air but a bit far away from you.

2 Ice Ball

This is Sub-Zero’s bread and butter projectile. Ice Ball makes him throw a magical ball of ice that freezes opponents for a brief time, and it has been a vital part of the cryomancer’s moveset since the original Mortal Kombat.

Ice Ball is usually the only projectile in the games that’s able to freeze opponents, and can be used to start Kombos with ease or to end Kombos to restart them. And if you don’t like to play fair, you can use it to stall the game until🌸 the time runs out, or just to tilt your opponent.

1 Ice Slide

Ice Sꦜlide is another 🎐of Sub-Zero’s iconic special abilities, as it has been a part of this fighter kit since the first game. This ability makes him slide across the stage to flip his opponents in the air in a somewhat comical manner.

You can use it to outmaneuver your opponents, quickly close the gap if they’re trying to camp you from afar, or to spice up your Kombos. In later games this special ability gained an augment, which can be used to let Sub-Zero grab his opponent once they’ve been flipped by the Ice Slide to extend the Kom꧃bo on it’s own.
