When we think about the Pokémon TCG, it's often about tearing open a booster pack in search of something shiny. When the game was first released, everyone was searching for a holo-rare Charizard. Now, there are ultra rares, hyper rares, secret rares and with the release of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword & Shield expansion, the new Gigantamax cards.

While these are amazing to have, seasoned TCG players know it takes more than just rare cards to make a great deck. In fact, some of the most useful and powerful cards in the meta are these uncommon cards. This list is full of trainers✤, but they are poweܫrful staples in modern competitive play.

10 MALLOW

Mallow can be considered a nerfed version of Steven'༒s Resolve. It's a supporter card that allows you to search your deck for two cards, shuffle your deck, then put those two cards back on top in any order. While not as good as Steven's Resolve, which lets you search your deck for three cards and put them in your hand, it's a cheaper, similar option and still fulfills a great purpose.

With the right hand, this card will let you plan out two turns ahead of you and keep you a step in front of your oppꦬonent.

9 CHOICE BAND 𒁏

A powerful item both in the video game and TCG, Choice Band will help your 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon plow through your opponent's E🔯X or GX cards. With so many GX cards in the meta right now, any advantage is one 🔥worth taking.

Choice Band is a tool card that makes whatever Pokémon it's attached to deal 30 more damage to your opponent's active GX and EX Pokémon.ꦐ That 30 damage can be the difference between knocking an opponent out in two turns rather than three. With cards coming into ꦚthe mix, every extra bit of damage helps!

8 NEST BALL

An item that is definitel🦩y used more in the TCG than the video game, the Nest Ball lets you search your deck for a basic Pokémon, put it onto your bench and then shuffle your deck. It's also an item card and not a supporter so if you're lucky, you can use multiple of these in a turn.

With so many decks in the meta relying on basic Pokémon like Mewtwo & Mew Tag Team (and a whole bunch ✨more GX cards) it's imporꦰtant to get heavy hitters onto the field as soon as possible.

7 ꦫ ULTRA BALL

A staple for years, the Ultra Baꦺll lets you search your deck for any Pokémon card and pu🏅t it into your hand at the expense of discarding two cards. The plus side is whether you need a Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2 card, Ultra Ball will let you get it. Luckily, there are so many supporters and items that can help you get discarded cards back into your hand.

Ultra Ball, pai🦩red with a card like Cynthia & Caitlin or Energy Recycle System, will make sure that you can get your discarded cards back into your hand on tꦕhe same turn you get rid of them.

6 RARE CANDY ♚

Although perhaps not used as much as it once wa🦩s, this card is essential for any deck that relies on Stage 2 Pokémon. If you have a Stage 2 card in your hand that evolves from a Basic Pokémon in play, Rare Candy lets𒊎 you put it onto the Basic Pokemon to evolve it. This lets you save a turn by not having to evolve into Stage 1.

Also, you can omit the necessary Stage 1 cards in your deck, freeing up space for other powerful Poké꧃mon or items that let yoဣu get your Stage 2 cards out even faster.

5 🃏 POKÉMON FAN CLUB

Everyone remembers the Pokéfans from the games. Those hyperactive trainers who usually had a baby dressed up in a little Pikachu costume. They've infiltrated the TCG and offer a Supporter caꦰrd that lets you search your deck for two basic Pokémon, reveal them and then put💞 them into your hand.

Revealing them to your opponent is an acceptable downside for having some of the strongest cards put straight into your hand. As a first turn ca𝕴rd, it doesn't get a lot better than this. You can use it to stack your hand with your powerful GX or Tag Team cards.

4 ACEROLA

Acerola, who debuted in Pokémon Sun & Moon, is a Supporte✅r card that lets you put one of your Pokémon that has any damage counters on it, as well as all cards attached to it, back into your hand. Although there is the Max Potion item, which removes all damage counters from a Pokémon, Acerola has a few advantages.

It's a great way to switch a Pokémon from the bench into the active position♍ by pulling your damaged active Pokémon into your hand. Any energy or tool cards attached to it will also go back into your 🌱hand, so you won't have to retrieve them from your discard pile.

3 MALL🦩OW & LANA

This is one of the relati🐎vely new Tag Team♐ Supporter cards that is a buffed version of the age-old Switch item. It allows you to switch your active Pokémon with one of your benched Pokémon. Seems simple, but it's the option part of the card that makes it so powerful.

When you use it, you ༒have the option to discard two cards and heal 120 damage from the Pokémon you moved to the bench. With other Supporter cards like Cynthia & Caitlin, you can easily get the discarded cards back while also bandaging up your team.

2 N

This green-haired trainer who was raise🌼d by Pokémon may not see as much play as it used 🥀to, but hand resets will always be a key piece in any competitive deck. N forces each player to shuffle their hand into their deck then draw cards equal to the amount of prize cards they have left.

This card is especially helpful if you're being trounced or you know your opponent just used a card to get specific Pokémon into their hand.🃏 Or, if you just have a cr﷽ummy hand and need some new cards, it does the trick for that too.

1 CYNTHIA

As the champion of the Sinnoh Region's league, it's only fitting that Cynthia has an equally powerful card in the TCG. It's simple, but its simplicity is what can make it useful in so maಌny situations. Using it allows you to shuffle your hand into your deck and d💧raw six cards.

Crummy hand? Use Cynthia. Only two cards left? Use Cynthia. Did your opponent use item cards to decimate your hand? Use Cynthia. Sometimes what you need is a hard reset and a fres🍰h hand of cards to getꦐ you back into the battle.
