Though you're given a basic axe at the beginning of the game, one of your first in-game missions sees you need to use your axe to gather materials to make your pickhammer.
This can be done at the Worktable at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:your workshop, and requires four stone and two wood, which can be gathered from the piles just outside your workshop

These improved tools can break through stronger piles of junk, offering your builder access to new materials once you've upgraded! You'll occasionally run into piles of scrap you can't break with your current tools, so revisit th🍸em after improving your tools.
Additionally, there will be a few times when you're given a unique tool as part of a story mission. These are often quite rare and typically offer some kind of improvement.
You can use these tools as normal, or opt to stick with your own handmade tools instead. Check the stats of your gear before deciding!
Upgrade Your Worktables To Craft Better Tools
Though the initial Worktable you're given in My Time at Sandrock does carry you quite far, you'll need to upgrade your Worktables before you can make certain tools.
There are three Worktables you'll use in My Time at Sandrock: the Worktable, the Intermediate Worktable, and the Advanced Worktable.
The Intermediate and Advanced Worktables both require blueprints from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Research Center before you can make them, as well as a wide va๊riety of reso🐻urces.
