Laura Bailey, a prolific voice actress with , plays the controversial role of Abby in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us: Part II. One expects a fictional character like Abby to fear for her life in a fictional apocalypse while hunted by a fictional foe hell-bent on revenge for a fictional murder of a beloved, albeit fictional, game character. But the threats made by real people to the real actress just became frighteningly real. In a heartbreaking tweet, Bailey shared some of the (to put it lightly) nasty m♔essages sent to her by people wishing horrible acts against her and her family.

Disturbingly, the posters can't seem to distinguish the differe🌳nce between Bailey the person, and Abby the character. We have to hope that that this cognitive dissonance goes no further than vomiting vitriol in a Twitter chatbox. Bailey has not publicly expressed any concern for her safety, but did say the messages were "a little overwhelming."

The Last of Us: Part II garnered loads of online criticism for the Abby character for several different reasons. Before The Last of Us: Part II even released, game director Neil Druckmann warned players that some fans "are not going to like this game, and not like where it goes, an꧂d not like what it says or the fate of characters that they love, I'd rather have people passionately hate it than just be like, 'Yeah, it was OK.'" On learning that Bailey was getting actual death threats Druckmann told Gamespot.com, "We have an actor, she's been getting really awful, vile stuff because of a fictional character she's playing in the game. I just have a hard time wrapping my mind a꧙round that. The thing I try to do is just ignore it as much as I can. When things escalate to being serious, there are certain security protocols that we take and I report it to the proper authorities. Then you just try to focus on the positives and focus on distracting yourself with other stuff. But it's kind of just the reality."

We hope that Bailey's distraction is the outpouring of love and support from millions o⛎f fans who enjoy her work.
