At 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:EGX 2023 in London, I watched another group of people play Dungeons & Dragons for the first time ever. I know, I know — I ne✱ed to watch Critical Role and Dimension 20, but I just… haven’t. I never thought I’d enjoy watching someone else play rather than simply playing myself. But watching Natural Six and its banter-filled party overcoming the odds, was surprisingly enjoyable.

Natural Six is a star-studded group of video game industry professionals comprised of Ben Starr (Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16), Doug Cockle ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ(Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 3), Alex Jordan (Mr Hands in Cyberpunk 2077), Hollie Bennett (previously of PlayStation Access and now of Frontier), Aoife Wilson (Eurogamer), with Harry McEntire (Noah in Xenoblade Chronicles 3) taking on the role of Dungeon Master. The team also reached out to Alex Moukala to compose the theme music, and Matt Owen has designed the character art to help breathe life into the campaign and the world of Reliquiae.

From Astarion's character development to Karlach being lesbian-coded, here 🌞are the highlights of the Baldur's Gate 3 cast p💧anel at EGX 2023.

The Natural Six cast is taking on the role of members of The Web, a mercenary group that offers their services to those seeking protection or📖 procurement, so long as you have the gold to pay them, of course. The campaign will follow their adventures in Reliquiae, a land created by the gods known as The Virtuous, after they secured victory in a divine battle against The Vile and The Wild. Though the gods once lived at the foot of Mount Atria within Reliquiae, receiving travellers and gifting divine knowledge to those who deserved it, they have since abandoned their homes and 💜moved to the peak of Mount Atria.

I have only recently started getting into D&D with the help of our ve✨ry beginner-friendly TheGamer campaign. I’m still learning the ropes and having to adapt to thinking outside well-ingrained video game limitations,, and perfecting how best to use my abilities to help the party. But despite struggling to feel like I’m doing well, I love every minute of it. Making mistakes and poor choices is all part of the fun of the group. For example, it turns out, you shouldn’t carry a severed head around. Watching Natural Six, I realised I could learn a lot by watching others.

It was especially enlightening to see the group make decisions based on their characters, instead of as players of a game . Jordan, who plays a Kobold named ‘I’ wanted to smell Starr’s character’s scent to recognise him while he was disguised. Things like this aren’t a typical action or spell, and then McEntire had to decide what they should roll for to act it out. Everyone played into their species traits and 𓃲history, and that’s definitel🎃y something I need to work on myself. I struggle with the idea of being ‘in character’, but now I want to learn my Satyr bard a little more to better understand how they would act.

Natural Six tells me the group resulted from “many bottles of serviceable rosé” shared between them. However, Jordan explains, “The absolute genesis was in the reception of Side, where Ben and I were both waiting to go into a booth and record on separate video games. I knew that he wanted to play, and I was gutted that my party’s DM had moved to Australia just as our campaign had got going. I said that I knew Doug played and he📖 might be keen, from there, we started to think of names of people who we thought might like to play with us.”

Others explained their inclusion was just lucky timin🐷g and pure chance. Bennett says, “I can tell you that if I hadn’t decided to attend the house-warming party of a mutual friend a few weeks before, I wouldn’t ha🀅ve met Ben for the first time, which ultimately means I wouldn’t be here now.”

McEntire needed even more events to line up for them. “I was the last piece of the puzzle, but I got a message from Ben on Twitter. A few years ago, I'd played D&D at MCM with the gang from Oxventure, and they had very kindly recommended me as a potential DM to the group. It was one of those wonderful, weird, serendipitous things that happen when you're a freelancer: a series of seemingly random events lead you somewhere you couldn't have imagined. I can trace the entire pathway of me DMing for this group back to an audition I had in 2014. Brilliant and bizarre stuff.”

Once the idea for the D&D group was pinned down, the team had to figure out how to fund it, as the production would cost a lot of time and money🍸. Initially, they contemplated finding a sponsor but ultimately realis๊ed Kickstarter was the perfect choice as it allowed them to achieve their goals while also giving back to the community supporting them.

“We lov🦄ed the idea of introducing our respective communities to one another through Natural Six, and creating something together from that,” Wilson says. “We also just really liked the idea of having total creative freedom from the very beginning.”

While the panel at EGX was their first session, introducing viewers to their characters and the premise, their Kickstarter campaign has since launched to fund a ten🐈-episode series planned to air in 2024 that will continue their adventures. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter is already over halfway funded and will end on November 15.

The group is keen to share their story with others and offer a sense of community to TTRPG fans. “Ultimately, we want to make something that, even if it's just for a few moments, gives a sense of escapism, enjoyment, fantasy, and wonder. Something where people can join us, be that on our adventure, in our community or simply in their own imagination,” Bennett says.

Jordan also suggests that with Natural Six being 💦a shorter series, it’s a great entrypoint into D&D actual plays, which can be a daunting prospect for those just getting into them now. Critical Role, for example, has hundreds of🧔 episodes to catch up on, running over three hours each.

One clear thing from watching the panel is that the group gels together well, and their enthusiasm and humour are infectious. Watching the way they bounced off each other and shared ideas made you feel like you were part of the group, even as a viewer. When they rolled a natural six and cheered, everyone cheered with them. When they failed miserably, we all shared in their dismay (and laughed at the🥀m).

“We have no right having the chemistry we do,” Jordan says. “I know people that have played D&D for years and years to find the chemistry that we have.𓄧 Something just clicks with us. Every time we finish a session I’m just desperate to start again. We’ve pretty much all been brought to tears of laughter by this point, Ben we’ve broken on multiple occasions. I want to spend years with these mates, I want to go on adventures and look back and savour the memori🌺es. I want others to enjoy Natural Six as much as we do.”

The Kickstarter is well on its way to being funded, and should easily achieve its goals with plenty of time to spare. I encourage everyone to check it out – especially those who, like ♑me, are 🧸new to D&D and the idea of watching others play D&D. Maybe you’ll learn a thing or two as well. The best thing I learned from Natural Six is that I do enjoy watching others play D&D, and I can’t wait to see what else is out there.
