Druckmann pretty much confirmed the plans for The Last of Us Part 3 in a new documentary about the development of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us Part 2, explaining that while it won't be the studio's next game, he feels like he could come up with "one more chapter". He doesn't yet have a story planned out for a sequel, but he does "have a concept" for another game that will be its own thing, but will also "act like a through-line for all three".
While it sounds like we're going to be waiting a very, very long time for The Last of Us Part 3, especially with how expensive games are and how long they take to make these days, it's nice to have it essentially confirmed with an exciting concept in the bank. Those who have played The Last of Us Part 2 will know that it does leave a lot of room for a direct sequel, though Druckmann's comments here imply that it may be more of a standalone project with similar themes, which makes another timeskip very possible.
"I don't have a story, but I do have a concept, as exciting as 1, as exciting as 2, it's its own thing but acts like a through-line for all three. It does feel like there's one more chapter to this story".
Interestingly enough, Druckmann also hints that Joel's brother Tommy may get his own spinoff at some point in the future, as a story for it has already been written up. It was apparently shelved so Naughty Dog could focus on improving its culture and work-life balance, but Druckmann hasn't given up on the project just yet, and thinks it will resurface at some point in the future, whether it be a video game, TV show, or something else entirely.
Druckmann claimed last year that Naughty Dog w🔯as already well into its next project, which we currently still know very little about. We know it's not The Last of Us Part 3, which was confirmed at the time and now backed up by Druckmann's comments in this documentary, but rumors have been swirling that it could be some kind of new IP.
Uncharted has put Nathan Drake into a retirement home, and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is officially out of the door. Coupled with the recent confirmation that The Last o༺f Us Factions 2 has been canceled, we don't actually know what Naughty Dog is working on at the moment. We know that it'll probably have us weeping in a puddle of our own tears though, as it's the true Naughty Dog experience these days.
