Pre-orders are now available for NBA 2K21, meaning we also get a final look at who all🌞 of this year’s cover athletes will be other than Damian Lillard, who w🔯as announced earlier this week as the cover athlete for the standard edition on current generation consoles.
Unsurprisingly, New Orleans Pelicans’ star power forward, Zion Williamson, will grace the cover of the standard edition on the next generation consoles of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Most appropriately, though, is the featuring of the legendary Kobe Br🃏yant on the cover of the special “Mamba Foꦚrever” Edition of the game for both generations of consoles.
Zion Williamson was showcased in the that premiered during last month's PlayStation 5 reveal event. While viewers only 🧸got a glimpse of the cinematic graphics that were captured using the technology of the PlayStation 5 (unfortunately, no gameplay was shown), it was certainly still enough to get fans excited for the next iteration of the annual release.
Kobe Bryant being featured in the Mamba Forever Edition of the game is hardly a surprise. The incredibly sad death of the iconic NBA legend and his daughter earlier this year took its🌼 toll on the league and fans around the globe. NBA 2K20 provided a touching in-game tribute to Bryant, and honoring hi𒈔m with an entire special editi⭕on was an obvious decision.
The cover art for the current-gen Mamba Forever Edition will feature a younger #8 version of Bryant, while next-gen will feature his #24 jersey. There are a ton of additional features that come along wit🤡h the Mamba Forever Edition, including virtual currency, MyTeam points, My𒁃Career stat boosts, and a plethora of Bryant-themed items - such as shoes, jerseys, and uniforms - with the Kobe Bryant Digital Collection.
The standard editions will also come with player-specific bonus items (either Lillard or Williamson, depending on the console generation version purchased), but Kobe Bryant and, most likely, NBA fans, in general, will probably be snagging the Mamba Forever Edition to honor the late player. This is especially true since Dual Entitlement will only be available with the Mamba Forever Edition, meaning playeಞrs who purchase the standard edition on current-gen consoles won’t automatically receive the PS5 o🌼r Xbox Series X version of the game, should they upgrade.
NBA 2K21 pre-orders are🅷 available now, with the pri𒉰ce being $59.99 for current-gen consoles, and $69.99 for next-gen. The Mamba Forever Edition is going for $99.99 for both generations of consoles.
