"This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care🌊", Gatwa says. "I w🔯ill endeavour my upmost to do the same. Davieꦰs has also commented on the announcement, expressing his excitement for the new season.

"The f🦩utꦍure is here and it’s Ncuti!", Davies says. "Ncuti dazzled us, seized hold of the Doctor and owned those TARDIS keys in seconds. It’s an honour to work with him, and a hoot, I can’t wait to get started."

He also gave us some indication as to when the ♈switch will take place. "I’m sure you’re dying to know more, but we’re rationing our🃏selves for now, with the wonderful Jodie’s epic finale yet to come. But I promise you, 2023 will be spectacular!"

We already know that Whittaker's fi🐲nal outing as the 🔥Doctor will take place this autumn, so it's likely we'll get a sneak peek at Gatwa's take on t🎶he character then. However, to see him properly in action, it seems like we'll have to wait until the new year. The announcement rounds off stating that there will be more news in "due course", so this is likely the only news we'll have to keep us going until after summer at the very least.
