Neil Druckmann has wrapped filming on an episode of HBO's The Last of Us that he has directed.

Neil Druckmann has been pretty hands-on with HBO's The Last of Us ever since it was first announced and is also a co-writer and executive producer on the show. We now know that he's also directed one of the episodes, .

Druckmann said, "Alas… my time in Canada has come to an end. To the best tv crew in the worl♌d, thank you for your incredible work, your passion, and for making me feel so welcome! I will miss you ter🅰ribly! Excited to return to Naughty Dog (and some warmer weather!)"

Alongside the post is an image of a The Last of Us-themed clapperboard. Although seemingly innocuous, this clapperboard actually gives us a first look at the HBO show's logo. It has the same font as the game's logo, but it's coloured blood-red, save for a white firefly logo stretching out between the last two letters of the title. It's pretty slick and helps differentiate this project from the original game.

It's not clear what episode of the show or portion of the story that Druckmann has worked on, as we don't have any details on how far filming has gone. Recen💞t set photos ♛have suggested that Joel, Tess, and Ellie are currently together and have encountered parts of the city that are covered i♏n the Cordyceps fungus, but it's not clear what episode that might be and whether or not it's the one the Druckmann has directed. We likely won't find out until the show debuts next year.

If filming has only gone up to the point of Joel, Tess, and Ellie being together, it's clearly not very far into the story of The Last of Us, considering those scenes are some of the earliest chapters in the game. Unless the team is filming scenes out of order, it's possible that Druckmann has directed one of the earlier sections of the story.
