168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Neo: The World Ends With You is like a Battle Royale premise. Neo a🍌nd his friend Fret are transported to the UG which is set up as the afterlife. It loꦅoks like the Shibuya they know, only they can’t talk to anyone anymore. The UG is also filled with monsters and psychic powers.
It’s a similar concept to the original game from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix. As great as the plot and characters within are, as a real treat to longtime fans who have been waiting for a sequel for over a decade, there are plenty of things that don’t add up. From questions about the game’s mechanics to actual story beats, tꦅhese are the most egregious.
There will be spoilers for the whole game.
8 The Power Of Pins 🍷 ♔
Pins are not magical on their own. They can only be activated by people with psyc♎hic abilities. In order for the game to work the way it doꦯes, only one character can equip one pin at a time.
In story cutscenes, it seems like characters have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:more than one pin, or at least more than one🌸 ability to use at a time. The limits between the story and the gameplay don’t add up.
7 Shoka’s Warp Ability 🦋﷽
Every playable character in the game gets an extra, non-comba꧒t ability. Rindo can use time travel as one of the game’s core mechanics and Shoka can use warps. Shoka says that she can o🅰nly warp short distances and most of them lead to nowhere. A real reason is never given.
These lead nowhere until they are needed for story 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:or side quests purposes that is. Whꦜy can’t she fast travel around Shibuya to make things easier for the player and why are these warp gates so limited?
6 Getting Shoka To Fight Ayﷺano
🤪 One of the core fights in the game has players facing off against Ayano. Since she and Shoka are so close, Shoka doesn’t want to have to do it. That’s one reason why Rindo has to travel back in time. Along the way, players have to randomly guess which question to ask Shoka so that it leads to her being okay with fighting Ayano.
Al❀l of these questions seem relevant so the way in which it is presented to the player as a puzzle doesn’t make sense. This can lead to a lot of trial and🀅 error in the game.
5 💃 Why Can’t You Sell Special Pins?
The only way 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:to make money in the game is by selling pins.ꩲ Some pi🐲ns are even set up as money like the 1,000 Yen pin which makes things easier. The only pins that are not valuable in a monetary way are the rare ones used for trading.
These include pins like the Adamantine. It would be great if these could be at least traded for cash somewhere even if it was at only one shop. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Clothes can’t be sold either which is an issue.
4 Why Was There ♔No Storage? ಞ
Players are going to go through 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a lot of pins and a lot of clothes in the game that will wear out their usef🧔ulness. As established, clothes cannot be sold so they take up a lot of space. All pins can be sold except the rare ones but there are reasons to keep at least one if not two of the same “normal” pins around.
Some are needed for trading along with the rare pins later on. It would have been great if the game set up some sort of storage facility. Why there ཧisn’t one is odd as storage containers are very 💟common in big RPGs like this.
3 T🐠hey Sure Do📖 Eat A Lot
Leveling up in the game increases HP. The only way for players to permanently raise other stats like attack power is by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:eating out at restaurants. It’s a great mechanic that has been used in other games with RPGs before like the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Scott Pilgrim game.
Eating a burger, s🅺andwich, or consuming a drink makes sense for one person. What doesn’t make sense are the more giant meals. Ho൩w could someone like Nagi polish off an entire grilled alligator alone? It’s funny to think about.
2 ൩ The Ending’s Pacing
Shiba seems like the final boss of the game and the game even sets it up as much. Players have to fight through a couple of forms before he is defeated. Seems like a classic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix RPG. H🔯owever, that’s just a ruse. Players have to travel back in🦂 time three times.
Going🌱 through th💖e same day that many times really slowed down the climax. What should have been an hour was stretched into about three. It’s a weird pacing issue that robs the conclusion of the impact it deserved.
1 Tౠhe New Title Screen
This is a small issue, but still a little fun to think about. When the game is finally concluded, players will be treated to a new title card that reads - Neo: The World Begins With You. It was a cute little aesꦑthetic change that most fans will appreciate.
The actual title screen changes as well but not as much as one would think. Neku is added to the cast but that’s it. T🍎he 🌠title reverts back to the original name. The strangest thing is that Beat is still masked and hidden from the camera. If Neku got a reveal then why wouldn’t Beat?
