Netflix might be most commonly associated with movies and TV shows🌳, but last year it started offering games to its subscribers too. Just on mobile, for now, and even though there are currently fewer than 20 games available to Netflix subscribers, there are plans to more than double that before the end of 2022 and even a hint that subscribers will eventually be able to play games on other platforms. There are currently 18 games available on Netflix. According to , the streaming service's goal is to bring that total up to 50 before the end of 2022. If Netflix manages to achieve that lofty goal, all of those titles will be exclusively available to play through its mobile app. However, a source close to the company revealed Netflix is looking for “content opportunities around video games from every direction.”
More than 30 games in the next eight months might seem like a lofty ambition, but Netflix's gaming branch has been growing pretty quickly. The first five games were added to the service at the end of 2021, and that number has already grown to 18 in a very short space of time. In fact, at least one of those games has already been revealed, and may well hint at the sort of thing we can expect from Netflix's still-new gaming division moving forward.
