The premise of the Netflix adaptation of the franchise has seemingly been revealed, as a synopsis for the show has appeared on Netflix's website and it might not be as close to the story of the games as people mig๊ht like.
Resident Evil is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, leading to a number of adaptations into other forms of media. The most successful of these is the Resident Evil movie franchise, which grossed over a bil🃏🔜lion dollars worldwide, despite a mixed critical response.
There were rumors last year of Netflix acquiring the rights for a series based on Resident Evil and even more rumors that production will officially start this summer. The Resident Evil Wiki Twitter page is adding more fuel to the fire, as a synopsis of the show appeared on the Netflix media page and has 𒀰since disappeared. The description can be seen using the and we will post it below in case it's scrubbed by Netflix.
The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Tod♛ay, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three w🌺ill start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.
It seems that the series will be a sequel to the events of the games, rather than being an adaptation of the events seen in Resident Evil or Resident Evil 0. The town of Clearfield might act as a new version of Raccoon City and the viewers could watch it fall into the same chaos seen during Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, ♈as law and order crumble in the face of a hor🐻de of zombies.
The Resident Evil series has been crying out for a TV show adaptation for a long time now, especially considering the incredible success of The Walking Dead. There was a Resident Evil musical in Japan back in 2018, yet it seems Netflix was the only company with the clout to make a TV show adaptation happ༺en. It might have made more sense to adapt one of the games to start out with, but it's still very ear🦄ly days yet and the cameras haven't started rolling, so it's possible that the final product will differ from the synopsis.
