It has only been slightly more than a month since the launch of the first season of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher, Netflix's adaptation of the famous Andrzej Sapkowski fantasy series, and fans can't wait for more. Although details about the second season of the show have been scarce, we know we won't get to see it very soon. Netflix will be releasing an anime-style full feature movie focusing on Geralt's mentor Vesemir - to help tide fans over until the next season.

It seems like every day we learn a new tidbit about the upcoming season, but keeping track of what was confirmed by the showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and what is pure speculation can be tricky. That's why 🧜TheGamer has assembled some key points that we already know, with a dash of what we strongly suspect, for everyone trying to make heads or tails of the whole situation.

It Won't Launch Until 2021

That's all we know in terms of the release date. The second season has been 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:announced long before the first even premiered,ℱ but nothing beyond a launch date sometime in 2021 is currently known, which Hissrich confirmed in a . She added, however, that this relatively 🦋long wait will have its merits: "We don't want to rush the product. That doesn't benefit anyone."

As for the filming, that's expected to start relatively soon. Around three weeks ago, Henry Cavill published a video on his Instagram, stating that pre-production of the second sea👍son will start "very shortly." Hissrich also explained in an interview with that "we’re making sure we have a lot of built-in cushion time for Season 2 so we don’t cram anything in at the last minute." She also added that the scripts for the second season have already been written, alꦍthough some changes may yet happen.

It Will Feature A Linear Timeline

One of the biggest pet peeves many had with the first season was the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:wonky timelines. Many viewers had trouble following what was happening and when. You'd see a major character die, and in another scene after that, they'd be alive and well. Netflix even added a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:helpful tool to mitigate the confusion surrounding this. "The narrative structure was put in place so that we could tell Geralt's short stories (the foundation of the whole Witcher world, in my opinion), while Ciri and Yennefer could also be a part of the action," Hissrich said, as TheGamer 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:previously reported. "This will definitely change in season 🌊t🙈wo, as they're stories have begun to converge."

Another issue people were having was with Jaskier. Although Geralt and Yennefer not aging makes sense, since they're a witcher an🎃d a sorceress and not expected to age much in the first place, the bard Jaskier is human, so he should've gotten a gray hair or two over the course of the story. "We dropped the ball on aging him up over the course of the show. It's hard to show the passage of time when everyone looks the same, so we'll be approaching that differently in [Season 2]," Hissrich explained in her AMA.

It Will Keep Following Novels

As for the story, nothing is completely certain, other than the fact that the show is based on the novels and not the games. According to , a short story called A Grain of Truth will be part of the upcoming season. The new🌳s outlet claims that this will happen as Geralt and Ciri are traveling to Kaer Morhen, which is a deviation from the story where only Geralt is part of the events. Other than that, there's very little we can even 🐎presume for now.

It Will Introduce New Characters

Only three cast members have been confirmed for the second season - Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri. While this does add to the mystery of the new season, it doesn't really reveal anything new. A big part of the fans' expectations is the possible appearance of Vesemir, and almost everyone 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:wants to see Mark Hamill in that role. However, in another interview with , Hissrich hinted that while she was ecstatic that Hamill has noticed the show, they still hadn't gotten in touch: "Mark has always been of interest to me and interest to the project. We have not contacted his agent yet because we’re not casting the role quite yet, but that being said, I am loving what’s happening on the internet." It is unclear whether she means casting any role Hꦓamill could fit into, or that of Vesemir in particular, as they may be considering🍰 Hamill for some completely different character.

All in all, what we know is precious little, but considering the hype surrounding the project, it is to🦋 be expected that fans will tease more information out of the people behind it.
