At the tail end of PAX East 2020, Marvel and Netmarble announced Marvel Future Revolution, an upcoming mobile MMORPG. We've known for a while now that something like this was in the works, but it's exciting to f🦩i🐼nally have confirmation. Even more exciting is how great it looks.
Marvel Future Revolution was shown off to the public with a trailer composed of in-game footage. Graphics of today's best mobile games are nothing to scoff at, but Future Revolution seems to push the envelop even further. Of course, the trailer was made using "in-game foo💖tage," but it wasn't actual gameplay — only time will tell if this level of quality holds up when the game is released.
The story appears to revolve around dozens of supervillains, multi-verse mayꦰhem, and our heroes coming together to put a stop to the madness and save Earth. The development team is keeping the details under wraps for now, but we expect to learn more in the coming weeks.
So far, only four playable heroes have been announced — Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Captain America, and Captain Marvel. Based on a recent Twitter post it seems like many more are planned, but no other characters have been made official beyond these four. There is also no mention of gaꦕmeplay mechanics such as skills, leveling, quests, or end game content.
However, we did get a solid look at many of the environments players will be exploring — such as Hub Cluster, Chosen Valley, and the Great Desert of Sakaar — which look to be massive open areas that function in a way similar to those in Black Desert Mobile. 🏅Players will likely be able to freely explore these regions, with loading screens separating each location.
The trailers don't reveal much else, but it's even to pique our interest. Netmarble and Marvel have previously teamed up for the highly successful Marvel Future Fight mobile game, so it'll be curious to see how Future Revolution will move the IP forward.
