is an upcoming mobile game from WB Games and Niantic Inc, the makers of Pokémon Go. which gives you an insight into how the new AR game combines both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series into one game.
The trailer takes the form of an announcement from the Ministry of Magic who are calling all wizards to help with a big problem or The Calamity, as they pr꧙efer to𒀰 call it. We can see CCTV footage, newspaper headlines and magazine covers showing wizarding objects appearing in the muggle world. Players are encouraged to “ready their wands” as the wizarding world is heading towards “quite the debacle” and needs help.
We can see wizards, a spell book, snitch and even a Niffler appearing in the real world as the magical exposure threat meter, as seen in Fantastic Beasts, creeps up all the way to emergency.
The 🌞 offers more information about how the upcoming game will work. The premise is that artefacts, creatures, people and magical memories are appearing in the Muggle world, causing mayhem and confusion. Players sign up as a new recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, which was established with the sole purpose of investigating and containing The Calamity.
You must then go out into the world and use a map to reveal traces of magic. These highlight the locations of magical objects, known as F🌼oundables. Players must cast spells to deal with the Confoundable magic and send the foundables back 🌱to the wizarding world, where they will be safe.
Unsurprisingly the game appears to have similarities to Pokémon Go. It features Inns which you can use to r🦹eplenish your energy, a feature which likely functions similarly to pokéstops. You’ll also be able to visit fortresses which are host to Wizarding Challenges and real-time multiplayer battles against dangerous enemies, likely bearing a resemblance to gyms.
There is no available release date for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite but players are being encouraged to sign up on the website, or pre-🧸register on Google play for more details. There is also a beta test currꦺently underway in New Zealand.
