Fantasy Flight Games’ writers have drawn their swords pens to write two new sourcebooks for the Legend of the Five Rings Roleplaying game. The Fields of Victory sourcebook and Blood of the Lioness adventure module are available now for pre-order from the FFG webstore, or from your FLGS, priced at $39.95 and $19.95 re﷽spectively. Their official print release is scheduled for early 2021.
The Fields of Victory sourcebook is designed for L5R GMs to use primarily for running large-scale battles and wartime scenari💮os. The book’s three chapters are filled with pages of lore and info concerning the history of warfare in Rokugan, and the methods on how the study and materials of past wars are to be preserved. It also covers in detail the current state of warfare strategies and tactics for GMs who want to present grand battles in their campaigns, including logistical, environmental, agricultural, and narrative info for conducting warfare with hundreds and thousands of fighting NPCs.
Along with the traditions of Rokugan warfare, Fields of Victory also holds the new Badger Clan, ten new clan schools, new PC titles and techniques, and a large selection of new weapons and gear. The Badger Clan is a new Minor Clan who live near and protect the Empire’s northern bord🦹er through their skills as master weaponsmiths. Though they are trained to be alert to strangers from birth, they also greatly value friendly visitors who bring in news from the whole of Rokugan.
The Blood of the Lioness adventure module will have players assigned as mediators in a mining ri🐬ghts d💝ispute between the Scorpion and Unicorn Clans. Players will have to travel to the Castle of the Swift Sword to search for information in the library of warfare at Akodo War College. The 32-page module comes with a double-sided map and plenty of punchboard tokens.
