We’re barreling towards April 16, the date when the new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat film arrives on HBO Max and in theatresꦐ (where theatres are open, of course). Keeping us on the edge of our seats is Warner Brothers’ marketing department, which just released a brand new movie poster for us to gawk at.
"Choose your fighter," reads the official Mortal Kombat Twitter. "Cole Young. Sonya Blade. Jax Briggs. Scorpion. Sub-Zero. Shang Tsung. Mileena. 💟Kabal൲."
While it's neat seeing all these iconic Mortal Kombat characters lined up for us, the order in which they appear might have a lot to do🐼 with each character's importance in the film.
At the forefront is Sub-Zero and Scorpion, Mortal Kombat's most famous ninjas. The two have a death feud going back generations and their ongoing fight will be a centerpiece of the movie, at least 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:according to the previous trailer.
Beside each of them is Jax and Shang Tsung. Jax apparently leads a military organization along with Sonya Blade investigating the Mortal Kombat tournaments. Miꦇleena sits beside the evil Shang Tsung as a trusted lieutenant, which fits with her history in the franchise.
At the ends are Kabal and newcomer Cole Young. Young appears to be a stand-in for audience members that might be new to Mortal Kombat and d🎃on't have a clue what's going on. With Young, on-screen characters can explain to him what's happening and also to any ignorant audience members.
Kabal being on the bad guy side is a new tidbit for Mortal Ko🔯mbat fans. Historically, Kabal has swapped sides more often than not, sometimes fighting for Earthrealm and sometimes fighting for Earthrealm's enemies, whoever they may be.
Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Raiden are nowhere to be seen in the poster. This might mean their roles are going to be minimized in the overall story arc, or it just mig🌜ht mean there are too many good characters and not enough bad ones to make the poster symmetrical.
We’꧅ll find out one way or another when Mortal Kombat arrives on April 16.
