Yeah, Sony’s upcoming State of Play is definitely a disappointment even before we see it, but at least we won’t haveᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ to wait too long for an actual PS5 announcement.
The next State of Play is coming on Thursday at 1 PM, PST. It'll be a 40-minute show about the latest and greatest in upcoming PS4 and PSVR games, which at this point, nobody really cares about. All eyes are on the PS5, but Sony said that Thursday's State of Play wi🦄ll have no news on either the upcoming co💎nsole or its first-party games.
Fans were rightly upset at the news, with comments on the PlayStation Blog ranging from "a little disappointed" to "you gotta be kidding me." Many noted that time was running out for Sony to reveal the two biggest mysteries about the PS5, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:which are price and release date.
Well, we might not have to wait ཧtoo much longer. A new report from reveals that Sony plans t🌳o make a major PS5 announcement before the end of the month.
We don't have an exact date, but a month-long timeframe isn't the worst news we could have gotten. Bloomberg also gave us their expectations of wh𝐆at the new PlayStation will be priced at, with the Blu-ray version clocking in at $500 and the disc-less version priced at $400. Note that these are just estimates, and they're both priced higher than the PS4's introductory price which was $399.99 in the United States.
While news of the upcoming PS5 is welcome, the report notes that PS4 sales h⛎ave slipped, likely due to both COVID-19 and the imminent r🧜elease of the PS5. This has blown a hole in Sony's 2020 earnings.
“This fiscal year will be important not just for how we recover froജm the Covid-19 impact, but also for how wꦑe change our strategy to better fit a post-corona world,” said Sony CFO Hiroko Totoki during the most recent earnings call. “The ones to survive will not be the strongest, but those who are willing to make changes.”
