The trailer begins with Psychonauts protagonist, Raz Aquato, entering a dormant brain resting inside of a jar. Raz is thrust into what will likely be a brand new world within Psychonauts 2, at which poinꦗt Jack Black's recognizable vocals appear out of nowhere.
During the showcase, the trailer was cut with b♏ehind the scenes footage of Black recording the track, footage that first appeared back at last year's E3. Both the cinematic and the behind the scenes are now availab𓆏le in full length.
Using Jack Black to record a song for the upcoming title works perfectly, as many of the artist's music videos with his band, Tenacious D, utilize a psychedelic aesthetic that is very similar to what you'd find in the world of Psychonauts. The song perfectly complements the new trailer and certainly buil🍨ds more hype towards game's release.
This isn't Black's first rodeo with video games either. He famously portrayed the protagonist in 2009's music-focused action adventure title, Brütal Legend. More recently, the actor began his own gaming-focused YouTube channel, , although the channel focuses on gaming-related vlogs more so than ac🍒tual gameplay footage.
Even without the help of a massively popular actor-musician like Jack Black, Psychonauts 2 already has plenty of hype surrounding it.
