New World's open world can be a bit of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a chore to navigate with its slower movement, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:lack of mounts, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:costly fast travel, and that's worsened by having to constantly open the map. Well, that's changed now as modders have cobbled together a minimap.
"I'm constantly losing track of where things are in towns," the post opened. "My friend and I built a minimap to help."
The post went viral within the community, garnering over 5,000 upvotes and a whole slew of awards, indicating that fans at large would benefit from a minimap in the game, but this is nothing new for MMOs. Another of its kind, The Elder Scrolls Online, features a compass similar to New World's, while no minimap has been added in its over six-year tenure. In fact, modders filled that gap, too.
However, what's different about New World compared to other MMOs is that addons are banned. The terms of service go as far as to outlaw them and so using mods could very well put you in hot water with Amazon. So, while it might be handy to have - especially with the infamous town maps - it could cost you your account, although Amazon has yet to comment or clarify.
Certain players voiced this concern, saying they would love to use the mod but are anxious about losing all their progress. So, one user - talimore - decided to speak to Amazon's customer service to get to the bottom of it.
"This looks really helpful and I want to use it but I don't want to get banned," they said. "So, I contacted Amazon to ask them about it, 'Are they okay to use or will I get banned?' They responded, 'We don't recommend using this kind of program with New World. You will get banned if you perform anything against TOS.' I pushed, asking if this was against TOS, and they said, 'We cannot comment on this, a third-party overlay program.'"
