168澳洲幸运5开奖网:New World will soon return in a dusty cloud of poisonous spores. Rise Of The Angry Earth reimagines First Light, one of the game’s introductory regions, and t🎃ransforms it into an alien biome with pink tentacles, oozing, aggressive plants, and a new Expedition into the heart of the corruption. In August, I was invited by Amazon Games to visit its LA studio and get some hands-on time with the expansion. It was great to meet the team in person, and it’s clear they share both the passion and frustrations of their audience.

Firstly, let’s address the main question I have - what sets this paid ‘expansion’ apart f🐭rom the free Brimstone Sands update? Both include a new zone, new mobs, new items, and a new Expedition. Brimstone Sands was free, and Rise Of The Angry Earth is $29.99. What gives? I asked senior producer Katy Kaszynski, who says that this expansion “offers a new gear level, a new zone to explore with drastically different mobs, and a new way to play with the Flail.”

There is more to dig into with this expansion than Brimstone Sands, if not in general content, but wi🧜th the overarching changes to how the game works.

Having explored the new zone, it feels completely different from anything we’ve seen before, both visually and in terms of the mobs you’ll encounter - from mammoths, to aggressive plants, to elemental gorillas. First Light, which a🅘lways felt a little undercooked, has been completely transformed. The new gear level also provides fresh incentives for players to grind for more powerful loot. Change🎃s to gear progression and the loot pool mean that getting your hands on BIS items might be slightly more achievable.

On the topic of loot, we also touched on ‘chest runs’, originally an unintended mechanic that has now been embraced by the team. They’ve even introduced a potentially solo chest run in the revamped Edengrove, although game director Scot Lane says it’s likely that players will still run it in a massive zerg, but that “this is one of our favourite unintended mechanics in the game, and one that will feel even more impressive and immersive when everyone is riding a dire wolf.” Loot in general has been revamped, with bette🦩r items more likely to drop from Expeditions. This is a welcome change that Lane tellꩵs me would “hopefully reward players more fairly for completing the harder difficulties of Expeditions.”

Expeditions have undergone a revamp too - the 10 mutations have now been replaced with only three tiers of difficulty. The team hopes that this will make it easier for players to get into a group, rather than getting stuck in that strange Mutation five no-man's-land. In the previous system, the best players in the game would constantly run Mutation 10s, which meant there were fewer players searching for lower-level mutations. This should balance out the player distribution. Creative Director David Verfaille also tells me that, in general, the third level of Expeditions “are tougher” than Mutation 10 runs, which should provide players with a new challenge.

I also have to mention mounts. Finally, we’re getting mounts. They look and feel great. It’s clear a lot🌃 of time has been put into how they handle and deal with terrain, as well their progression system which allows you🐻 to unlock upgrades and attachments as you become acquainted with your new steed. You can ride a horse, a dire wolf, or a lion - these are staggered as you naturally level throughout the game, and your riding skill improves as a whole rather than tied to a single mount. This has been a hugely requested mechanic for some time, and it’s great to be finally able to explore Aeternum on the back of a noble steed. It feels like a feature that has clearly been considered and balanced before hitting live servers.

The new weapon, the Flail, has some excellent animations. Again, it feels like a weapon that has undergone a lot of consideration in terms of how it fits into the meta and how it feels to play. It’s an aggressive support item, one that could be used for a rare melee healer build, and I’m really interested to see what players can do with it. I’m not sure if it will replace the singularity of the Life Staff, but it definitely offers more flexible gameplay for players who want to utilize t🌊hat sort of support and tank playstyle, a bit like your ಞclassic Paladin MMO build.

Overall, this is a very positive step for New World and the core community for the game will be pleasedꦰ with the changes. Is it enough to bring the game back to its once lofty heights? It’s difficult to say. The most difficult challenge faced by the dev team now is how to get players back on board to try out the new loot systems, changes they’re making to territory control, and the endgame grind. This expansion is a step in the right direction.
