Soul ♋Motes are an esse🅘nce crafting material used to refine Opals, Malachites, and Amethysts, as well as a few other crafting recipes into the late game.
The main use of them, though, is to refine gems that can be applied to weapons and armor while crafting. Soul Motes are most commonly collected from Soulsprouts in the early game, while later on, you're better off mining them from Soulspires. Where To Find Soul Motes From Soulsprout Plants In New World
Soulsprout plants are located across the regions of Windsward, Everfall, and First Light. Basically right in the center of the map. We've marked a few spots down below, an ideal farming route for harvesting Soul Motes.
You start at the Harplass Homestead in west Windsward and then make your way west towards Cooper's Ranch through the forest. There are several Soulsprout plants dotted along the way. Pair this up with f🌊action quests to clear mobs from either Homestead and you have a very effective farming route on your hands.
- The Soulsprout plant cannot be harvested until you hit level 30 in Harvesting.
- The best way to level up your harvesting is to harvest Briar, Hemp, and Petalcap on your journey.
- Soulsprout Plants are also found across the Everfall region.
How To Get Soul Motes From Soulwyrms
Soulwyrms are a rare magical creature spawn that will drop Soul Motes when harvested. However, this creature is extremely uncommon in the starter areas of Everfall and Windsward. It's more common in the higher-level areas of the map, like Reekwater, Weaver's Fen, and to the north of the map.
However, there are one or two spawns in Everfall and Windsward that you might find useful in the early game.

There is a river to the north of Windsward Fort that has several resources spawns, including Rivercress, Petalcaps, Briars, and of course, some rare Soulwyrms. About three spawn here every 20 minutes or so.
Soulwyrms require no harvesting skill to acquire, so they are useful if you just w🧸ant to get your hands on some Soul Motes early. However, considering how uncommon they are, these will likely get snatched up by players in the know. Still, worth checking out.
Where To Get Soulmotes From Soulspires
Soulspires are Soul Mote ore veins, essentially. They require level 50 mining to collect and are mostly located in the northern parts of the map. However, there are some spots where you can find veins in Monarch's Bluff and Everfall. We've marked them on the map below.
Most of these spots have mobs ranging from level 7 to level 20.
