8 Gears 6

Considering Gears 5 just released in July 2019, fans shouldn't expect another mainline entry for quite some time. The fifth entry in the popular Xbox exclusive franchise did some new things that refreshed parts of the series but didn't hit the highs people expected. With The Coalition's studio head Rod Fergusson recently announcing he's leaving the studio to run the Diablo franchise for Activision/Blizzard, it seems that new leadership could bring a fresh perspective. Gears 6 could be the type of soft reboot/new direction the franchise has needed for several ye♏ars.

7 🐻 Monster Hunter: World 2

The168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Monster Hunter series was one of those video game franchises most Westerners thought was cool but stayed away due to how convoluted the gameplay looked. With Monster Hunter: World Capcom made it much more approachable for new players and in turn, were r💫ewarded with their best-selling game of all-time. They'll likely put out at least one more massive expansion to take ad𝓡vantage of that player base, but afterward don't be surprised when they try to double-dip on next-gen with a sequel that's hopefully even more streamlined for Western audiences.

6 The Outer Worlds🅠 2

When publisher Take-Two recently stated that the sale of 2 million copies and the inclusion of the game on Xbox's Game Pass subscription service made the definition of success for the title unclear, fans were worried about the future of The Outer Worlds. 5 🍷 God Of War: Ragnarok ꦗ

Now, it's unclear if the sequel to 2018's masterpiece known simply as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:God of War will have the subtitle of Ragnarok, but given the narrative hints after the first game, it's highly li🍸kely. Either way, fans are clamoring for another opportunity to take on the role of Kratos as he tries to save the crumbling world around him. Sony Santa Monica is likely already hard at work on this sequel, so the real question is about when we can expect it to release. The first game took around 4 years, so if you do the math and adjust based on familiarity with the engine and such the earliest we could see the follow-up is late 2021.

4 Grand Theft Auto VI 🐟

Grand Theft Auto as a franchise is in a very weird place right now. On one hand, some feel the game and its historically profitable online mode will simply be ported to next-gen and we might not see a full-fledged mainline sequel anytime soon. Another strong growing opinion is that in today's current culture it may be hard to write an interesting satirical narrative. With GTA Online being so successful some are questi💙oning if the next entry will even need a single-player component, or if it will just be a living online world.

3 𝔍 Resident Evil 8

The Resident Evil franchise went from being dormant and relegated to spinoffs, to now thriving more than it ever has. The series is riding a wave of both Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 Remake coming out to critical praise on top of selling exceptionally well. In 2020 fans will see the release of the Resident Evil 3 Remake, which has them wondering when the next new mainline entry will release. According to big gaming outlets Resident Evil 8 is already in development and will be sticking with a first-person perspe𝐆ctive. Don't be surprised if it shows up at one of the next-gen consol♔e's reveals.

2 ꦐ Star꧋ Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2

There was a point where it seemed that the Star Wars license was going to be revoked from Electronic Arts for what seemed like negligence on their end, but as the developer does, Respawn Entertainment gave the world the best Star Wars game since possibly Knights of the Old Republic. The game not only showed EA that good single-player games sell but letting your devs use whatever engine they like could be beneficial. With only a few years left on their exclusive deal to develop Star Wars games, count on them cashing in on another Jedi: Fallen Order game.

1 Spider-Man﷽ 2

Sony recently decided to take Beyonce's advice and put a ring on Insomniac Games. The PlayStation platform owner swooped up the Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank developer for an impressive $229 million. This type of investment doesn't happen without a plan in place from both sides about the future of the partnership. Considering the commercial and critical success of the first game, Marvel Games and Sony have likely already had the studio begin development on the sequel. Thankfully there were plenty of teases in the first game about where the story might go 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in the sequel.
